      The best program that is the official certification is the Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist Program or BCMAS. the site where you can enroll is medicalaffairsspecialist.org/

      Hi Andrew, great question. Yes there is a lot of potential for MD professionals in the pharma/biotech industry. That clinical knowledge is highly valued. And there is tremendous potential for upward mobility. You can find more info at medicalaffairsspecialist.org/

    I believe it's terrible, because some docs take that bait and prescribe meds WITHOUT doing labs, etc...THat is no bueno....I think those commercials should be banned. IT feels like it's creating illness where there isn't any...If I have a problem, I write down all my symptoms, if they aren't life threatening, just annoying, I wait minimum of 3 days for me, then if after 3 days and they are getting worse or the same, I go in, and I bring my documentation of my symptoms day by day along with my diet and activity that I have been doing prior and for those three days...My doc, is good..He will draw labs, do xrays if needed and then, if whatever he discovers can't be dealt with either vitamin or mineral supplementation or change in foods, etc and so he will then prescribe a medication that is only short term if possible. He feels like long term medication isn't really necessary if you have never looked at the roots first, like diet , lifestyle and so on. HE does use pharma drugs, but only after he's checked out everything first. I have not always experienced that in my life. I had one doc, who based on my words only and a brief not even thorough head to toe prescribed me with bp meds...Come to find out according to my new doc, One needs to take the bp a minimum of at least 3 measurements to see the average. Never go on the first one cuz it might be high due to me being nervous. My bp wasn't actually always high, but was placed on a drug by another doc, after not being fully checked out.. So,,,These commercials can be dangerous if you have a hypochondriac patient that like you said will whine a doc into prescribing, it's DANGEROUS. just saying. Ranty all done now.

    Do you think MD, PhD, or PharmD is necessary for the role? I have 3 years of Pharma sales experience, and a Masters in biomedical sciences. Also 3 publications on patient case studies and clinical research, just want your opinion on how this background would prepare you for the role in comparison to one of the “advanced”degrees?

    • @willsoliman8432
      @willsoliman8432 7 місяців тому

      based on the information you provided, you definitely have the right background. You don't always need an MD, PharmD, or PhD but they are the predominant degrees in the field. I certainly think for someone with your background that getting Board Certified in Medical Affairs (BCMAS) would give you tremendous benefits.

    I smoke cigarettes + drink ethyl alcohol-containing beverages + take amphetamine-containing pills + drink several caffeinated beverages + smoke THC-containing cannabis on a daily basis. Plus, I smoke methamphetamine sometimes. I’m in much better physical shape than most people. I can outrun the vast majority of the people in the United States. And I have no diseases or health problems. I do go to the gym at least five days a week, but my diet is only halfway healthy. I’m more knowledgeable than most people and I have a pretty good full-time job and got almost straight A’s in college, but I worked my ass off at studying, even while I was drinking at bars. Plus, I’m always happy. Why do you think all those drugs are illegal? None of them have any side effects. None of them cause health problems. They’re illegal because pharmaceutical companies in the past (about 100 years ago) worked hard to make them illegal and spent money on creating fake advertisement to stigmatize those drugs so that people would buy their, less-effective drugs. These days, pharmaceutical companies have developed many drugs that are not the kind of drugs that you use on a daily basis, which are beneficial too (such as drugs for treating certain types of cancer), so they’re not going to work toward destroying this truth. Plus, now, it’s easy to spread information (via internet). That didn’t exist back in the day. All drugs are legal for use, possession, and tax-paying sale now because I said so. 18 years of age or older for sales. Heroin was replaced with opioid-containing pills too. It’s just the truth. You’re welcome.
