New Zealand
Приєднався 12 січ 2014
Kia ora to a slice of Aotearoa, where the vast, blue backyard calls for a paddle and the promise of adventure. This is for you if you’ve got a kayak gathering dust and dreams of gliding through waters less traveled. We’re all about sharing those journeys you can’t always make - from the thrill of the catch in our local Hauraki Gulf to the quiet moments that catch your breath on New Zealand's inshore islands and coastline, where the birdsong is as rich as the history. It’s not just about the fish or the paddle; it’s about connection - to the water, to the land, and to each other. And when it comes to fish, we're after the mighty kingfish each offering a unique challenge and a delicious reward. So, if you're into the kind of adventure that respects our whenua and waters, and if you reckon a good yarn is just as important as the catch, then you’re in the right place. Let’s keep it sustainable, educational, and full of that Kiwi spirit of exploration. Grab your gear; let’s make tracks.

Big Snap fight Kingfish chasing my kayak
Great video Andy. Very adventurous getting all the way out there. Well done!
Cheers mate, always looking for new spots to explore.
How long did it take you yo paddle out there, and was it tiring?
About 2hours not very tiring, these kayaks are great for long trips they paddle so efficiently.
good video just a shame the music was a bit load over you talking
Thanks for the feedback Brian, will keep an eye out for sound levels in the future. Thanks for watching
Hey Andy, What would you say your cruise speed is in the stealth? Looks to be relatively fast?
Without lures or live bait easy cruise about 7-8kph with some effort can hold 8-9kph and when birds working 10+ haha
Great video Andy. Love the angles from the 360 cam!
Cheers, It gives a great angle, is a bit of a pain to edit but the results are worth it. Thanks for watching
@KingsWithAndy do you have a remote to start recording?
Yes for the 360, I still manually turn on/off the GoPro mainly due to battery consumption
....next time mate...🤞🤞🤞
Haha thanks Rob, definitely will be a next time! Maybe even soon 😜
Your creativity is truly remarkable. One day, you will achieve something great.
Thanks mate, I appreciate the kind words! I'm just trying to make the most of it!
Really good tutorial Andy. Two virtues I lack when it comes to kingfish. Patience and persistence. With your video I’ll keep trying. Love that far north spot and what a beast! Happy new year to you and looking forward to more of your content.
Thanks for the kind words Jezza. We will have to get you out to some northern bays to hunt out a king with us soon mate :)
Great video. Lots of good, basic informtaion that is easy to follow for those of us new to the sport.
Cheers mate! Glad you found it helpful.
great tips. ive only landed 1 small kingfish on the kayak (mostly by accident lol) on the slow pitch jig. hoping to try and land a legal king on the kayak but seem to be doing better getting kings landbased lol
Keep at it mate, those kings will come, the hardest part is not getting distracted by snapper fishing and just focus on kings
@@KingsWithAndy haha can b hard to multitask on 2 species
nice fish, thanks for putting my pet fish back
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed the video.
nice fish. caught my second king fish ever a week or so ago. but only 45cm
That’s awesome! They’re hard to beat even the lil guys pull string. Hopefully, you get a bigger one next time!
Awesome video! Really shows how much time and effort goes into catching a king.
Thanks for watching Ryan. It definitely does take some effort but it's worth it when you land one!
Awesome video Andy. Thanks for showing us the basics!
Cheers! Hopefully, these tips help you catch more fish. Was a fun weekend thanks for a great catchup!
Nice Andy! Looked like a fun day on the water mate
Thanks mate, always good to get out with the tribe!
Wow, what an awesome event , I wish one day I could join a such event on my 575! miss the times on stealth for sure..!
Any time Min
You are always welcome please send us a message if you would like to jump in to the StealthTribe chat where we organise these meetups!
Shot Andy. Great morning out.
Thanks mate!
Great vid Andy. And a memorable day. Pity the bloody fish didnt want to play along as much as we hoped...but thats fishing for ya.
Thanks Rob! Was a great day out. Thanks again for organising!! Them kings are playing hard to get again this year… we will keep at it though
Hopefully I’ll join 2025 one rod challenge!
Fingers crossed Sean… hope to see you on the water soon! Thanks for watching
Go the Stealth Tribe, looked like an awesome fun day.
Thanks Loz, it was good fun. Any excuse to get a bunch of fisho’s together is a good one!
Amazing to get out there. Can’t wait for the drone shots with “fish-on!”
Very soon! Might be a little while before I’m brave enough to fly the drone whilst fishing haha
Cool trip to pull, especially hitting waters that are fairly unpressured, Cheers man
Thanks for watching. It’s always surprising how shallow snapper really are when not pressured (or maybe we don’t fish the shallows enough)
Well done Andy! Looking forward to catching up with you soon. You need a good hat for sun protection… we know where we can find one! See you soon
Haha thanks, I might have lost mine by the end of the video (wind drowned it) . Looking forward to our catch-up soon!
Epic vid Andy - really stepping up your game here bro!
Thanks for watching! Having some fun with the tech and hoping the quality keeps increasing.... now just need to find some kingfish... hahah... soon
Great trip Andy, such a shame that Little Barrier will be a reserve soon with no fishing
Thanks Kev, It is a shame that it will no longer be fishable.... but I also like that they are making it something special and untouched... its a magical place.
Been fishing in LB for years, still my favourite,
It’s an amazing place, I’m sure it fires up with some beasts, very keen to give it another shot before it becomes a reserve.
Superb vid Andy....use of technology, cinematography, editing and script. You're visibly evolving with each vid. Shame it was such a quiet day for everyone though...but that's the way it goes sometimes I guess
Thanks Rob, I appreciate the feedback, I had high hopes for an epic 20lber session with big kings but hey that’s what keeps us getting out their for these trips :)
Epic bro some absolute screamers in the shallows
Thanks mate, it’s amazing how snaps fight dirty in the shallows
Love it. 🎉
Thank you! 😊 that crystal clear sound (mostly haha) is all down to your kindness thanks Simon
Really cool vid! Can’t believe I just found the channel? Always interested in how folks rig their stealths, does yours have the transducer recess? My 525 does but my FISHA 500 doesn’t just wonder how folks fit their ducers. I run a sounder arm off the 500 it’s easy? The 525 I use the recess, but wanting a bigger garmin just thinking how I’d fit it with the recess. Cheers man! Looked like a awesome few days
Thanks for watching Jake and welcome to the channel, my Fisha460 has the transducer recess underneath as it is the newer model. Ping me a message on FBook and I can point you to the right direction regarding transducer mounting.

Thanks mate. It’s amazing what a good mic can do… hopefully full test on the weekend out at the barrier!
Great vid mate - Dreaming of my return to Maitai Bay. Had so much fun fishing the wash. Prepare for your cameo in my vid coming soon.
Thanks mate, Maitai was a special place. That coastline at 27:13 is just spectacular… will definitely be back again
@@KingsWithAndy Did you see the cave in the inner top corner of the bay where we spent most of the day?
Some good edits mate, nice video 🔥
Thanks 🔥appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. New one should be up tomorrow…. It’s a goody
Good vid mate, great fish, but Better luck next year
Thanks mate, need to get working on my Northland video hopefully up soon. Was good catching up at Labour weekend
@@KingsWithAndy My Northland vid looking like feature length lol
this man owes me lunch!!
Yes my friend I do owe you lunch! Wil have to get down to Welly soon to demo some kayaks and catch up for a bite.
Nice work, cant wait to get back out soon
Can't wait! Spring is finally here and the sea is warming up for hopefully some king fish action soon.
re match with mat
Definitely need a rematch….hopefully with some kings around haha
Awesome collaboration!
Thanks so much! Wish the fishing was a bit more on fire so we got some more content from Matt haha... gives an excuse for next time. Plus I owe him lunch now.
Bro, that’s some nice looking coastline 😍
It really is! Im hoping it going to hold some decent fish for the upcoming weekend's competition.
Surely a land based video? 😄 Love your content.
Thanks! Might do a land based adventure soon.
Another awesome video Andy! Thanks for sharing. We’ve sailed past Motuora but in true Tāiko fashion, the fish evaded us! Tāiko 0; Fish 3
Thanks for watching team Te Taiko. You’ll get them fish soon!
Motor Aura?
Yep my pronunciation needs some work sorry for butchering it.
@KingsWithAndy you're all good mate! Great vid too!
Awesome spot loving your videos
Thanks Paul, I appreciate the feedback.
another good one
Thanks mate. Appreciate the feedback
Bloody Stealths such awesome kayaks...makes longer missions like this, with the big glide factor, so much more do-able
Yes sir. I couldn’t imagine doing this in my old Warehouse Kayak, but you have to start somewhere. Keen to try a multiple day mission to a few of these islands during summer for a bit of an explore trip. Thanks for watching.
Really loving your content Andy and the fish you catch. Your kayak is a grunty slay machine. Really nice to see some content on your side of the motu. I prefer sunset fishing. I find the water temperature to be more consistent from day to evening. I’ve also noticed the fish are hard on the chew about 45 mins to sunset. I tend to catch the most fish around this time. I don’t know why, but it seems to be very consistent. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the comments Jezza. Good to see somebody hitting the sunset fishing. Interesting comment about the water temp , makes sense. I remember in the old days the guys picking up the 20’s in the shallows all swore by the sunset bite.
Nice video what size nanomatrix please?
Thanks for watching. The nanomatrix was a 6-10kg …. Amazed it handled that king.
Your video is very well done, but it looks like there are some issues affecting its visibility. By resolving these, you could see a big improvement in views and overall channel growth.
Thanks
Love a sunrise fish but have also caught some nice fish on sunset
I would have to agree.... I think the idea of cold wet dark packing up the kayak puts us off doing more sunset trips but definitely see more action just as the light drops. If filming wasn't so crap maybe I should try an overnight session to see what its like kayak fishing at night.
Great happenstance to meet you and chat at Army....wicked vids. Slick as. More food gor thought. Cheers.Dan
Was great to meet you too Dan. Always keen to chat to other kayak fishermen who are just getting into the sport. Hopefully we will see you again at some of the spots around Auckland to share tips and tricks.
