To clarify the farm radio battery pack style was designed so several different battery types could be used such as 6-12 volt automotive batteries wired up to provide proper voltages 4 12 v could could run plates and drycells could run filaments or sometimes 6volt lead acids were used, whatever they had on hand rigged somewhat like I rigged it today

Oh, awesome! G batteries look almost like giant AA batteries. Do they make alkaline F-cell and G-cell batteries? On that note, what happened to E batteries? It skips from D to F. Another weird thing I discovered was regular cells in A and B size. The A size looks like a slightly thicker AA and the B is a little taller than a D battery but skinnier than a C and contains two sub-C cells inside. Eveready made something called a Bayou Battery or something that was a B-cell (they called it the #8).

Many were not skipped but now long obsolete interesting history and union carbide (eveready) was huge

I'm the only one out of my friends group who even knew B batteries existed, and the only reason I do is because my boyfriend is a battery collector. One day I randomly said "have you ever wondered why there are no B batteries?", and he responded by showing me a B battery, I was astonished! He gave me one as a Christmas gift and now I use it as a conversation piece.

@@jamest409 Wow, that's awesome! I knew about F cells but didn't know about G. Are the G batteries the same as the No. 6 batteries that look like a can of Campbell's soup? I saw a No. 6 once and I was shocked at how huge that thing is.

G Cells were used as "A" batteries for the same portable tube radio's they are like elongated D flashlight batteries google eveready 964 for an example of one also visible in some of my videos

@@jamest409 Oh, awesome! I looked one up, they look like slightly longer F batteries. Did they also have H, I, and J cells? I know they have N-cell batteries, they're small (like half an AAA). On that note, what happened to E batteries? I noticed they skipped from D to F.

Going to use 40 LR44 button cells, they are almost the same capacity as original and 60 volts will run the radio I can do 44 for 66 volts as well
