One of Jimmies most beautiful songs
Jimmie Skinner was an important part of country music in his day ❤
Are those bird sounds on the record itself?
@@ajtstvandmusicarchivechann1585 no it is them whistling, which is kind of annoying they were known for that
@Countryrecordfines oh thank you for the clarification
Wow this is my paw paw and uncle . Thank you
@@jessewhitstine4484 you’re very welcome. I love their music. Which one is your Paw Paw and which one is your uncle?
The Tenor . On the right . My uncle on the left passed away in 2001. Due to Cancer that was likely tied to Agent Orange from Vietnam. USMC
BEAUTIFUL SONG AND AMEN LOVE THIS SONG GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Had not heard of him. He's good. Is there anything by i could purchase?
There’s none that I’m aware of
Made before Tops became a discount supermarket label - This might have been written by Ira and Charlie Louvin.
BEAUTIFUL SONG LOVE THIS SONG
Good one
A nice shuffle, but you need to reload it again to the beginning of the inro.
very nice ❤
Never heard of this artist. Sounds good
cool song.
I was married to his man
First time hearing! Great song.
Thank you for this 🎁 gift...
Eddy Arnold had a record of this song in the late 1940s.
Anybody know when this recording was made? If I’m not mistaken, that’s a steel-bodied slide guitar providing the instrumental lead.
I’m not sure the sleeve has no year on it. I would say late 60s early 70s.
@@Countryrecordfinds Really? It seems much earlier than that. If it was in the 1960s or after, the audio fidelity is remarkably poor.
Fantastic..proper country music
That's my grandfather! So cool to see it posted somewhere. I've only been able to get my hands on two of his records myself.
That’s awesome. I have two of his records as well. Where is your grandfather from? If you don’t mind me asking
The marriage of Red Sovine and Johnny Horton.
Wow
What real country music, thanks for sharing this gem 💎
Thanks for this great stuff you've uploaded, especially this. But why did this cut off, I really wanted the rest of that steel solo!
@@HonkyTonkHound-ww7ht well a lot of my early stuff UA-cam just cut the video in half for some reason I’ll eventually re-upload it
@@HonkyTonkHound-ww7ht I re-uploaded it in the full song is up
Love this one.
Could possibly be the same Lonnie Dean who recorded with Will Taylor. The album is called Texas Honky Tonk Shuffles.
Do you know if that album is up on UA-cam?
@@Countryrecordfinds It used to be so it should still be.
Ooo oh oh wow my gosh🌹velvet 🌈

Thank you so much for uploading!! 🙏🏝️
The Thoroughbreds were basically Fiddlin Doc Roberts with Dick Parman and Ted Chestnut in April 13 and 14. Roberts was sick his neighbor Dennis Taylor who booked recording artists for Gennett Records in Indiana taking so much of the royalties, and complained to Wiggins, head of Gennett's recording division. Wiggins told him Gennett didnt mind if he escaped Taylor by making records under another name. So Roberts, Parman, and Chestnut went to Chicago and recorded 4 songs as the KY Thoroughbreds and two songs as the "Quadrillers" in April 13-14 for Paramount. The truth was Gennett was also selling almost every oldtime record it made by Roberts and anyone else to other labels who issued the records under different names, often without Roberts and other artists getting a cent. Eventually, Wiggins forced Taylor and Roberts to make up and make more records, but Roberts left Gennett and Taylor in 1931. How this worked out with Taylor and Roberts owning farms that adjoined in Kentucky would be interesting to know,
I apologize about the video cutting out in the middle of the song. I don’t know how to fix that and for the poor picture.
I really enjoy hearing this... thanks
