It’s easier to remove the meat when you use the collapsible basket.

Just took mine for a spin. I cooked a roast similar to yours, a wholle chicken, and a medium turkey over the span of 3 days. I found that leaving the gas wide open is the best way. Setting it on low or medium doesn't allow the convection action to be optimal. I must say, everything turned out amazing, the turkey especially. Also, I used mine on a wood deck and had ZERO problems. I would NEVER do that deep frying.

Any problems using that on a wooden deck without a heatshield under it?

Had mine for a while now and have done a number of whole turkeys with it. Last one this past Thanksgiving I set the burner as low as it would go without the wind blowing it out and wrapped the cover with AL-foil and just a small hole around the handle for a vent. It took about 4 hours to cook to 165F in the leg, but it was the best one we've had out of this thing. Love that you don't have a huge amount of oil to deal with in the meat and as part of clean up.

Thanks for the great video!!! Making our roast as we speak. We only used it for Turkey and ribs so far. Both came out amazing. I love this thing! Clean, easy, guaranteed success.

Freddy Bauer the green egg is a large ceramic grill that has many uses. My bro in law cooks on one and has become quite masterful indeed. Smoking and or grilling
