Tamiya V-1 "Buzz Bomb" 1/48

My build of Tamiya's V-1 "Buzz Bomb" in 1/48 scale. This kit went together like a dream. The hardest part was getting the typical German mottled camo pattern down correctly, and then applying the 20 decals that came with the kit. My Instagram page for more content: djsscalemodels

My build of ICM's Spitfire IX.E in 1/48 scale. This kit is one of ICM's older molds, so it was a real challenge to get it to look halfway decent! However, I feel that I learned some lessons in this build and hope to carry them onto my future kits. My Instagram page for more content: djsscalemodels

Actually, per scalemates, the kit is a completely new tool from 2010. The 70's kit was of a Bf-109F.

Our country used this SA2 system to take down a lot of B-52 in 1972.

Yes! They are a fun change of topic. I would recommend to stay away from the Mitsubishi "Zero" kit though.

Most of the updating is due to the amount of illeged expert's are to lazy to do any research and only copy all those that constantly get every fact wrong ! As for the colour plate's have been finally taken note.....eg black and white spinner, white wing tip's.....cowling half was not mottled, but painted in RLM 02 and was from a different aircraft and the engine cowling was a replacement part with a freshly painted RLM 65 Hellblau. Franz Von Werra on returning back to Germany in December 1941 wasn't rewarded the ( Eiserne Kreuz l Klasse ) Iron Cross, as he was already rewarded with much earlier....it was the (Ritterkreuz) Knights Cross a much more prestigious award....For research would prove that Oberleutnant Franz Von Werra claimed 14 aircraft. And NOT 13.....For Werra was to claim a Spitfire on the 5 th September 1940, he was bounced no less than twice that day by more than one who made him their claim....the extensive damaged to the right wing of W.Nr 1480 will verify that Fact.
That's very interesting. His entire story seems to have many details that are quite "grey"... I think that's part of what drew me to wanting to share what I could find! Regardless of who he fought for, or what his ideologies may have been.. I think most people would agree that he had quite the life during a tumultuous era of history.

Compared to the unfortunate F-14, the Mig survived conversion to an egg quite nicely.
I don’t think I’ve seen any F-14s like this, but I do agree! I’ve ordered a few more of these “egg” kits because they are so fun

Just about finished my model inspired by watching the late Hardy Kruger in "The One that Got Away". I must have seen it decades ago when a kid. Watched it again a few months ago. Funny in the movie they had his canopy opening on the wrong side. Maybe it was due to the required background for the movie ( houses or modern stuff in the wrong place). You were lucky to have a 1:48 scale swastika on hand. Be hard to get one here in New Zealand. If I was making it again I would not fit the prop, landing gear and tailwheel til last thing. However I managed to mask it all OK and it is due for a coat of clear then the decals. Thanks for your video.
@@kevinthorpe8435 The P1 variety of the P38 pistol began production in 1939 to replace the similar caliber Luger. So it is possible Von Werra used his influence to get his hands on one.
The baron was a slippery rascal. Nice narrative to inform our appreciation and admiration for your painstakingly artful assembly of the E-4. Congrats!
Thank you! Sadly there were decal problems and my paint job of the canopy wasn't the best.. But I have many, many more models to build :D
