Meet Shri Maheshwar Hazari
Maheshwar Hazari, born on 9 October 1962, is a seasoned Indian politician who has made a significant mark in Bihar's political landscape. He served as the Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and has held key portfolios, including Minister of Industry, Planning & Development, Urban Development, and Housing. Notable projects like the Patna Metro and New Patna Map Plan highlight his impactful tenure. Later, he also led the Public Works Department (Building Construction).
Hazari is a three-time MLA and has represented Samastipur in the Indian Parliament during the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha. He gained prominence by winning the Kalyanpur (Samastipur) constituency with a record margin of 52,000 votes, defeating Ram Vilas Paswan's nephew.
Politics runs in his blood-his father, Ramsewak Hazari, was a socialist leader and an eight-time MLA, also serving as an MP in the sixth Lok Sabha. Maheshwar Hazari continues to contribute to the development of Bihar with dedication and vision.
