Always do the inside hook first. What a terrible chain install. You needed to put inside hook one link tighter. If needed pull slack all around the tire. Then start at the bottom cams first. Then move up to the cams on the top of the tires for final tightening. If done right bungee won't be necessary.

I wish had a video of us chaining up in the oil field of Eastern Wyoming. We had triple rails on all the drivers usually one steering axle and drag chains on our trailers. Sure looks easy to put on chain in parking lot. We used to sometimes run them down primary highways just to get rid of hundreds of pounds of mud.

If you never want a problem with being loose and don't have to use a bungee.....then just carry 2 short 4×4 blocks in the front of the tire both sides after you run over the blocks it pulls the chains tight then hook up close your cams roll forward 3 feet unlock your cams pull an extra link on the hook ups then re-cam.....your chains will be so tight you can run 50 miles an hour and never come off......that's the way I learned in the pacific northwest))

It takes at least 20 minutes to install 4 chains on 4 wheels if you know what to do! And it’s more important to install them right but not fast!!!

This works but there is an easier way and the chains will much tighter no need to roll the truck at all.

Theres a terrible misconception about the rubber tension cables. No one on you tube knows or explains what theyre really for. They're not for keeping the chain from disengaging or to keep them wrapped around. All the bungee cords do is, prevent the chain from falling into the wheel welll in case of failure, the tension on the bungee cord prevents a damaged tire
