Is the rejetting necessary? I was hoping to just install the new air intake and that's it...
You probably will need to at least adjust the needle, which means if you don't have the adjuster installed you will need to get into the carb, if you have to do that you should probably do the jet update. You can try with just the intake put you may end up with a bike you can't ride until you either replace the old breather or do the jet work... Best of luck to you. Ride safe.
Thank you brother I appreciate the knowledge
Another clutch burner
Yes does reduce the heat on leg, I would say I use the fan as well as open the fairing vents and combo of that solved it for me. Still wish the bike had a fully water cooled design. I have a VTX 1300 that is I didn't have to any add ons.
Did it work ?
is there anything special to inflate tire. can i just go to any gas station and fill up with air to reseal the bead?
Yup just be sure the rim bead is clean
11:44 now we’ll just let the air pressure reseat the bead for us. Get it up to 35lb. What size air compressor are you using to get that bead to reseat?
I have a Husky
10 gallon 135 psi
That locked so easy, the way he put the bead breaker between the bead and the rim, in real life it's hard to stick it in.
May need to let the Windex or soapy water soak in a while. I washed the tires before I started so the bead was still a little wet.
Hey Jim, Wondering how your bead breaker is holding up? I see on amazon that some complain that the bolts strip out. I have no idea what they are doing wrong or if its just poor quality? I have to do the TPMS sensors on my buick (17" alum rims) and thought I would ask your opinion. Love your video and good idea on the notched wood.
No issues with mine. Used it several times.
@@jimhogan5875 Thank you Jim. I ordered mine up last night. I have three TPMs to replace on my car and hopefully this goes well. It should be in tomorrow.
Is on in neutral and not on yet ?
The kit did not come with dash switches the blanks in dash have no ability to add a switch just plastic blanks wish I could shoot a picture to u
One last question, I took cover off have bank of blanks on right and bank of blanks on left 2015 roadglide special im not sure where to install the accessories switch for fan , hd sent me 2 switches can I put both in one will have no function however this harness has 3 taped off extra leads so assuming those are for one of the 2 switches .
It should be able to go in any location just need to get power to it and back to the fan.
That was a big relief to hear , thanks for the video , those of you that have and take the time to do these are greatly appreciated, during the 6 years I lived in Puerto Rico I relied on UA-cam videos to help with many things even during the covid period 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇵🇷 again thanks
That's a bit of a relief when you receive the kit it looks like a scramble, one last question, will I need anything done once it's all installed on my 2015 hd roadglide special? (Ie: programing etc)
No its plug and play
Did you have to take tank off ?
Nope
Try leaving the left heat shield off so as to allow an exit of air from the right shield
Think about leaving the left side heat shield to allow the air to enter on the right and exit on the left. Dk customs points out this idea of not trapping hot air with two heat shields
Idle is too fast
$1K for another loud Honda that wants to sound like a Harley. I spent $1K on my new tires and fresh brakes.
Always a nice ride with new tires, ride safe.
Do you like riding it better now or before? And did all that give it more power ?
Much better now, like having another gear at the high end...
Hi Jim! those wood chucks are an excellent idea. How far from the edge of the wood is the notch and how wide is the notch?
About 5 in and .75 deep. Probably will vary based on your rims.
@@jimhogan5875Thank you Jim!
Nice bike i love the vtx they're one of my favorite bike of all time
Those shops charge too much for this simple job that's why I did mines myself also good work man 👍🏾👍🏾
Upper control arm doesn’t rub springs ?
Nope
Found a 1800r with 20k miles fully decked out. What a joy to ride and sounds like a ripping machine
Idiot
Nice job , especially with the wood chucks 👍👍👍👍👍
Dude, I had to quit watching your camera work was make me queasy.👋
so it goes...
crossing your hoses takes up to much room for fresh air.
Thanks for the comment..no issues with the intake.. cleaned the can this weekend after about 1500 miles doing it's job....
Great, where did you get the breather bolts?

Are the bolts 1/2"-13 x 1-3/4" or are they 1/2"-13 x 1-1/4" ? Thanks again for this mod info.
1 3/4
Jim. The comments are turned off on your catch can video. Where did you get the breather bolts ? Are they harley ? Any info about that part of the install would be helpful. Thanks

How about that Buck... here is the link for the bolts good luck...
The mounting bracket doesn't make any sense how it's supposed to be mounted. Any help out there please
Have you removed the stock air housing? What I recall the new one mounts where the old one was...
What a coincidence. I just picked up an unloved 2005 VTX and this coming Valentines day is my only morning to try and get it running and Im in MD too.
Get her going...still a great ride...
Updates???
Not another rack in the house. Jimbo's is NOT big enough
I heard that there's no difference in the multiple stage kits with the vtx. 1 is exactly the same as 2&3.
Did you have to do any fuel command tune up? I have cobra exhaust already just stock intake? Let me know what you did thanks in advan
Yes for the new intake, with the stock intake I doubt you will have to adjust the carb.
I want that tachometer, I have powerflo with barons jet kit and they said to use 210 and their main jet didn’t even have number with it. 2.5 turns out but I did 1/4 turn less and seemed ok but sluggish on the accelerator. Kit came with spring too
"Its a little cold today!" He says as he stalls out from taking off in second gear lmao
How are they holding up so far?
All good no issues.
Truly AMAZING piece of work !!
for me it hesitates on takeoff I do think you need to go one more index of mainjet or one more step higher on the needle check it out,
You can get those things to sound rite . The only One comes close to have a good sound is a Yamaha
your gonna blower up hoss
I run a 58/220 needle at 3rd notch and it is strong at low end torque and pulls all the way through the upper revs up to 6k in 5th.
i just installed 60/200, thoughts on that?
I have a similar setup only I used the Factory Pro jet kit. I love the PowrFlo
Bad A$$...just did the same thing to my '06.
ALL IN / At lunch looked at a 2005 VTX 1300s, 1 owner , Had all the paperwork of maintenance and oil change. Inspected 2 or this year. Get this Just over 18000 mil on it. A drop in the bucket for this bike. All stock with wind shield bags and sis bar. Gave this bike a good look over and ride. checked twice. down to the tire pressure. :) surpassed or met all. I am happy to say I will soon be part of the club.
Watch part 2 for the details on the needle and adjustments.... Ride safe!
Yeah But... you skipped showing ALL the critical adjustments.. and the stock main vs the kit jet.. did you replace the idle jet? clean it? what did you set the air/gas mix screw at? 1 1/2? 2? oh well...
great video. thanks
