I can finally say that the build is actually complete and wanted to make a video walkthrough of the system to prove some further detail of what went into the build. This is also to serve as a reference for SVR 2023. The...

Be careful with the antbiotics. They can screw up your long term health. Just sayin.
I have a Burmester system in my Cayenne I wanna upgrade in a similar fashion (ZEN-V + Helix V8 DSP amp + Match UP1FX). I will most likely keep the factory Burmester mids and (ribbon) tweeters only replacing the front woofers with Helix i5s. Would you keep in that case the center ch or tune it without? I would need to use 2-ch for that, that I could alternatively use for differential rear fill. So the real question is: center ch vs rear fill.
@@Elberoth one seat with rear fill all day.
Love the enclosure.
Great work there. Did you say you have a build log uploaded somewhere?

@Luke Ouellet-Nice Work. Question: Could you put this subwoofer, IB, in a sedan with a rear deck setup?
You can but needs custom work with the rear bumper
Would be nice to see some time laps with pictures from during the fabrication. Good job!

@LukeOuellet Really nice work, Luke. 👍👍 I know you're probably burning the midnight oil, but you've got A LOT done in a relatively short period of time! I hope you have a good bit of time reserved for R&R after finishing this up for the holidays! The only thing I see that I'm not too keen on is having the main system fuse buried under the subwoofer enclosure. But I realize that you're obviously working with some very tight tolerances and limitations in order to maximize the internal volume of the subwoofer enclosure. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Cheers
Are you going to do any more work on your truck ?
Great job Luke 🙌🏿
anyone notice at 3:58 the clock randomly starts going bonkers?

Hey Luke. Love to get a consult on the tuning. How can I reach out? I have a JL audio Fix86 with a JBL stage a9004 4 channel amp for doors. (Passive crossover) And a morel 500w monoblock for a small pioneer sub. I have tons of hissing from the OEM HU and want to get some help tuning the 10am eq on the JL FIX 86 to help clean up the sound.
Lovely install, exactly how it should be 👌👌👌
I would love to see a video with a couple of 8’s or 10’s; too see how you do it.
looking good
Killer build bro !
The Helix Ci7 speaker system is for me, like a best kept secret from Helix. I say that because Helix is of course known for their tour-de-force DSPs. But very few know the power and quality of the Compose speakers! They are so easily integrated into existing OEM systems. I’m so glad to see this review and plan for these brand speakers. This is the exact speaker system I am choosing for my EV6. They are high-end and obviously do not come cheap, especially any V series DSP from Helix. I have to purchase everything gradually in stages ahead of time because of the high cost. And to do it right, you have to have outstanding sound deadening as a foundation. So I have learned a lot! But damn, the high cost is no joke! It’s worth it though! Thank you for posting about these fabulous, fabulous speakers.
Looks great and super clean with all the amp wiring.
Very nice build…. You definitely need to do more than 3 builds a year.
I appreciate that but that’s tough when this isn’t my day to day career haha. But I have a few more things in the works for this coming year.
Looks great man! Really enjoying all your videos and look forward to seeing more!
Conductor looks great 👍
Are you worried about any cooling issues
@@GageThellen not at all. You can practically bury the V and P series amps without issue.
Very nice sq channel, wish there will be more quality based installers creating content without bs🍰🎶
Excellent work. Why not use the Helix amp with built in dsp?
@@KeithGrier-hz5hy this is a Helix V8 DSP Amp I’m using
My bad. Excellent choice. I saw the Match amp and got confused
Hello ! You did pretty good so far, but there is room for improvement. 1. seal the service pannels from the door with vibro, that buttyl cord is not enaugh ! That plastic covers resonate and move like crazy and that produces distorsion ! Also put a second laver inside the door, good materials are comfortmat tsunami(for behind the midbass), comformat integra for the rest of the door or if you like Stp you can use sonora or aeroflex. I didn't used othe brands. 2. put vibro deadening around that Helix plastic adapters 3. put some speaker foam rings around the midbass 4. on the door cards put more vibro material. You said that you put enaugh. No it's not, I put 3 times more material on my car. That buttyl cord is not enaugh. 5. put anti squeak tape all around the door cards so the plastic doesn't touch directly on the metal from the door 6. use some propper material as a 2nd layer on the door cards, not that oem fiber mat ! The best I used is comfortmat soft wave expert, just try it and you'll never go back to other brands ! PS: I'm preparring my car for next year Emma competition(it's evolving continuous for the last year) and I did all my deadening myself, almost all the car in at least 3 layers. Good luck !
Thanks for your advice but I’m confident in the recipe I’m using is successful for the time and material we are putting in. This isn’t a competition level system. Also multi layering dampening products has been tested have to little to no additional benefits when it comes to resonance
Great work. The attention to detail in the door treatments will pay dividends down the road!! Great job.
Love the work!
Nice work. Looking forward to seeing the duct seal application

Sweet video. I have a cayenne that’s about to go under the knife.
This is awesome, going to be starting my SQ build in my Tundra next month, you have motivated me to get my ass in gear lol. Thanks for sharing
Please keep the video coming. Can’t wait to follow along!
Great video. Looking forward to more. I had a system in my 2016 Cayman but I didn't need a MOST interface since it had line level outputs. Easy to add aftermarket. I now have a 2022 Taycan which I have been contemplating a system for but not sure how to work around the electrical system of an EV. I've also been out of the game for awhile so I don't know what equipment is out there now. One question I have is about power distribution. Most installers seem to gravitate towards fuses rather than circuit breakers. I always liked circuit breakers for the ease of disconnecting the system. Is there something about circuit breakers that installers shy away from?
@@808labradors thanks! I personally run a Stinger circuit breaker in my truck but I know most installers stay away from them cause they have track record of being more sensitive to heat. But I’ve installed probably a dozen circuit breakers without issue. I’d recommend looking up PSSound as he has done some EV builds and I know one was a Taycan. I’d suggest subbing to his Patreon and chat with him direct about it.
@@lukeouellet The sensitivity issue with breakers is a real thing. Fuses will withstand an overcurrent condition for slightly longer than a breaker which is why sizing breakers needs to be done carefully. But the convenience of allowing for rest and disconnect without actually removing anything offsets that for me.

Very detailed and informative. This video made me rethink how i should upgrade my c43 burnmester system. I just feel like they're lacking. It would be really cool if you can include a list of all or most of the product you used in the video on the desciption(maybe with links). Awesome video. Thanks!
@@hksice200 I’ll try to explain this best I can but listing every product would take me half as long as the build itself haha. But if you have a specific product you are curious about, don’t be shy to ask about it.
Peter at ps sound has done some amazing systems on the mercs with burmeister. He often uses the factory burmeister kick woofers and rates them once tuned with a helix dsp amp, worth considering before spending money unnecessarily
I'm looking forward to seeing more on this install.
I grabbed the same 38 pin plug except off some chinese site mine came with a male and female end , i couldnt find it on its own anywhere except without wires and that crimping all that seemed like a nightmare lol aliexpress has them now too for around 40 bucks wire is quality too.
Great video with a lot of good information! Question for you: I have a 4Runner that I'm currently piecing together a Helix build for. I'd like to keep everything in factory locations also (car doesn't have 3-ways up front). I'm thinking i7 components in the front doors, coaxials in the rear doors, 8" sub in the factory JBL enclosure, all powered by a Helix V8. My question is do you think it would be better to do #1) i7 6.5" woofers and tweeters, or #2) i7 8" woofers and tweeters in the front doors (lower door has quite a lot of space from the factory 6x9)? My thought is since I won't have a lot of bass coming from the 8" sub in the factory trunk enclosure, the 8" i7 woofers might help fill in the low end and bring some bass up front. But then I'm worried I may be missing out on too much of the upper-mid range with that larger gap between the 8" woofer and tweeter combo?
Keep them coming
What's your opinion on the Helix V8 vs say the JL VXI 800/8? Nearly every shop I visit in SoCal wants to push the JL. Thanks and these videos are good to see.
Hey Jimmy - from a pure "how does it sound" perspective - they are qual playing fields but I have removed as many VXi amps from builds as I have installed new V8s mainly because of OEM integration issues. The VXi feature set is very basic and limiting when compared to most DSP Amps on the market - 16 volt limit, 10 band eq and input summation, input EQ and delay missing. JL essentially mandates you need to buy a Fix 82/86 to live in front of most VXi set ups that aren't using a digital signal. So now I need two devices and need to spend almost $1000 more to get a device that still doesn't have nearly the same tuning or integration capabilities of the Helix suite. Really hard for me to justify installing a VXi in any new build. JL makes good hardware and tends to have a decent dealer network but the VXi was obsolete the day it was released, dealers just push JL for the name brand familiarity and usually have decent sized dealer minimums to meet quarterly. With that said, if you are only working with a tuner that is familiar with TuN and Vxi - I'd still recommend looking at that as you will likely get better results than making someone learn a new software.
@@lukeouellet Wow thank you for that detailed response. I was afraid of that. I have a 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 non Bose and I know OEM integration is going to be a pain. Local shop here in San Diego is going to use high level inputs only. I bring up a lot of questions from your videos, Resonix, and PSSound and most shops don't even know what I'm talking about. I'm a novice but watch a lot of videos and understand the concepts of what you guys are doing to get great sound. I had them just throw a front sub in for now and sounds pretty good. Waiting on the AMT Mundorf Tweeters to arrive from Resonix and then will go from there. Really appreciate the response.

My local shop is recommending these speakers along with Helix dsp/amp for my Lexus. It is hard to find any information online for them so thanks for this video
recently did this speaker system + rears and center in a porsche on a V12 and it sounded incredible. The midbass on those 8's is insane!
Nice
Luke.. You win!!!! .. all of the best truck systems I personally have ever seen don’t even come close to your level. Absolutely insane build!!! You set yourself so far ahead of everyone else. INCREDIBLE!!!!
Great build, I just bought one of SMSL PO 100 myself for an optical source in my VW Arteon install. It’s an amazing little box.
I haven't seen too many videos from high end audio guys talking about the Valicar pods. Are they a decent solutions for a sound quality 3 way?
That is an amazing build - great job, brother. Have you done any upgrades to electrical system? Do you have the 170 or 220 amp alternator?
U mentioned digital is the option instead of high level!, But what do u mean (digital) is it RCAs ?
Digital for this build is an iPhone 15 Pro Max > USB C cable > SMSL PO 100 Pro > Optical/Toslink cable > DSP
I just added an iBasso DC04 Pro to the aux in my car and sounds fantastic, but doing it ur way it will be on another different level💪 Thax a lot
how much did the accuton speakers cost? looking to build my SQ system and i been looking for good quality speakers
@@dto8182 they were part of a trade I made with my Utopia speakers but retail on each pair of speakers is $4000-$4500 depending on the dealer.
Just order the distribution block from your video, so much cleaner and logical to lineup +ve and -ve on same side by side.
Nice build, I saw the Legend Peter 👍🏻
