Can jeans be worn with the waistband removed or do you need to reinforce the top edge? I LOATHE high waist jeans and now that lower waist jeans are acceptable again, I was thinking of just cutting the waistband off of some jeans I would still like to keep, but I guess this method is better.
It is best to remove the waistband as shown in my video. Only the waist starts to stretch while wearing , so the pants fall off your hips. So it's best to stabilize the waist with a facing (made from your old waistband, for example)
@@sooij3397 I did it the way you showed and this technique rocks! It's a button-fly pair of stretchy skinny jeans, so they actually stay on. I'm trying to figure out a way to make the legs a bit wider (ESPECIALLY in the calf area). Thanks for this game changer! I've already saved some of the videos you've made on upcycling all these horrible skinny jeans I've accumulated.

What was the point of removing the waistband and doing nothing else with the pants? If they had replaced the old waistband with a new elasticized waistband then that would have been very a very useful tutorial.
