Hey cheers from Sweden kinda late but wahtever :). Yeah like MO said a swedish påunkband that got huge house crowds back in the days during the 90's Hardcore affshoot from punk asnd skate punk got out :). Saw them live a dozen times and it wa only after hearing them hardcore music was a thing so i guess they fathered Hardcore punk :)

I remember seeing the live and I still have the signed poster in my garage.

Generic.lol the rain symbolizes dark days. It's supposed to be a uplifting positive song. It might be a little generic I know lots of metal core bands do videos in the rain or warehouses but this song is very emotional and well done if you've ever been depressed or felt with depression you'd like it and understand it more.lol

Hey, here something to clear up some things :) Refused are from the north of sweden, not denmark. Pump the Brakes wasnt really the predecessor of New Noise.Pump the Brakes is from their first full lenght from ´94. They released another album and a couple eps before New Noise came out in ´98 on their third album The Shape of Punk to Come. Anyway, great song and definetly underappreciated in the Refused catalog.

It’s not uncommon for bands that have a screamer and a singer to just have the singer for a song and not the screamer. Would screaming worked as well for this song as singing did? In my opinion it wouldn’t. I’m not trying to be mean at all so don’t think I’m picking on you 😂 but idk just my thoughts

The song basically deals with the anger, hostility, and despair that comes immediately after the loss of a loved one. It's brilliant and especially meaningful considering the members of the band recently had to deal with this on multiple fronts. The agony and pain displayed by Winston in this video is genuine.

What really made me fall in love with this band is the documentary about their beginnings, its definetly worth a watch and it's on UA-cam aswell. Such humble dudes all the way from a small surfer town in Australia!
