Using the box blade behind the tractor on the very rutted Red Road at the farm (Part 1)
The first video showing the beginning of box-blading a very rutted dirt and rock road (no gravel). This road has been around since the 1940s and is particularly bad in this video because of record rainfall in November.
Part 2 will show the finished result.

Thanks for the video; I have been looking for more box blading vids. Did you consider putting the rippers down first to loosen it all up and bring up the buried stone? From what I understand from videos I have already watched, that is the preferred method, which makes a more permanent repair of ruts and holes, not to mention easier to smooth out and level. You seem to have a lot of larger rocks that make for a great base; so, since its been so long, it might make life easier for you if you bring in some fresh stone to top it off before it gets bad again? I am still learning by doing with my 5 ft. EA box blade, but I am currently working with dirt right now. Also, a bucket full of something helps with my front tire traction in 4WD on my 2032R. Hydraulic top link makes life so easy with the box blade. Looking forward to part 2!

The problem with using the rippers deeply, on this road, is the rocks are never-ending and there is no gravel to pull up. I'm trying to use them sparingly to keep the larger rocks under the dirt. The road holds up well until it rains a lot. Rippers are great to pull up existing gravel. On another stretch of road someone has put down gravel and I have used the rippers as hard as possible and pulled that gravel back up. Then I went back with the blade to smooth it. That video will be available as soon as I can get it edited. I'm trying to do the all can without the added expense of new gravel. I don't know about you, but I can't say enough good things about my EA box blade. I love this thing!
