Parklea Branching Out Ltd was established in 1997 to help to develop local individuals with support needs to fulfill their potential. Parklea use horticulture as a vehicle to provide a variety of different training, work experience, supported employment, recreational and social facilities for a variety of clients including adults and children with learning and/or physical disabilities, those with mental health problems, school leavers, young and long term unemployed, elderly groups ad community groups. Parklea also provide training to SVQ level in horticulture and employability programmes.

Callum's Grow Wild Application Mar 19

Callum is one of our clients at Parklea. He engages in horticulture and creative pursuits, such as animation, modelling and painting. He is applying for a grant to enable him to get a wooden teepee built where inside, he will grow Shiitake Mushrooms on logs. This is his application film 2 minutes.
Elvis Doorstep Surprise

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic our clients have been unable to attend Parklea as normal. To cheer them up we had a very special singer visit them and serenade them on their doorstep. "Elvis" impersonator John Reid entertained them all with "Return to (Sender) Parklea!" before gifting them a Jigsaw and a cd. Social distance guidleines were adhered to throughout.
Virtual Garden Tour

Our participants have been having a great time working on our Virtual Garden Project. Working in collaboration with Software Training Scotland ,this project has allowed for our young people to document their work around the gardens through both videography and blogging.
