Thanks for your video I'm having the exact same issue with my 82 Firebird motor. I did note that you can take that park assembly out you just need the motor out of park position and that assembly will just lift out easily. I'm surprised that those little modules are not readily available, by that I mean the park switch that the hook thing slides into when in park seeing as it's an easy part to just remove and replace.

I have a 1993 fleetwood and previous Owner swapped out tbi for a carb and a lot off plugs arnt plugged in and no check engine light or codes show How would I make all codes and lights appear to begin going back tbi

Still in amazing condition for the Rust Belt. Had mine in Arizona. No rust but Arizona sun rotisseries everything else. An Oldsmobile collector lives on Oldsmobile Ln about one block from me. He has a 1990 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser that is the last of the station wagons that resemble the B and C body sedans. It's a beauty. He has indoor storage for his entire collection. I'm privileged to see them on the road in my community from time to time. By the way, what is your monthly payment for your Oldsmobile?

Nicely done. The diesel versions of these cars, which didn't have an air pump, had a water pump hose clamp with a small stainless steel shield riveted on to protect the hose from the belt. The clearance there is very close. Forming a thin piece of plated sheet metal or aluminum and catching it under the hose clamp band would have the same effect.

Thank you for sharing your under hood view of your Ninety Eight. I had the 1984 version with the same powertrain. I remember AIR stood for Air Injection Reactor. My system used the air pump to supply mildly pressurized air to my exhaust ports during warm-up to promote oxidation. Then the system switched the air to the catalytic convertor to oxidize hydrocarbons after warm-up. The plastic valve assembly diverted the air to the air cleaner on deceleration to prevent blowing the catalyst apart. I simply found a shorter belt size to drive my accessories and removed my air pump. The metal reed valves at the upper ends of the steel tubes stayed in place. I merely rubber capped them. The steel nipple on the catalytic convertor end was easy to crimp closed with stout locking pliers. I kept my EGR system to reduce pinging, though running fairly advanced factory timing. My average mpg was 19 when my electronic carburetor was stuck lean. It dropped to around 16 mpg after the carburetor was returned to normal and under ECM mixture control. Running the carb full rich (ECM disconnected) yielded about 13 mpg. I sold my 98 some time after my speedometer broke at about 268,000 miles. Wonderful, simple, inexpensive to own car. May yours be a pleasure to drive for many years.

I still just don't get how leaving it untouched through a bad winter would cause the constant dying & stuttering under load while idling or at low speeds. I always had some codes at times when having to pump it a ton at startup. All shops & classics owners told me you gotta use up or drain the fuel out if these carbed cars before winter, or constantly start it through the coldest months to keep things from going bad or the fuel/ethanol/water from freezing up & ruining things. It only had this bad stuttering & dying problem barely ever before that winter.

I never got around to trying all you recommended, but did take it to a shop whose owner knew how to work on these carb'd engines. Problem is he retired & had a careless guy there running it now who just was profit focused & didn't want to really work properly on these time consuming oldies. They told me they would rebuild the carb & it should run better as long as engine was in good shape still. But of course after close to $1,000 for that, of course they said it didn't fix the problems & did a compression test & found some cylinders as low as 120. They didn't even bother replacing the new TPS sensor I left them when they supposedly rebuilt it. Always thought head gasket was going but they said no, it needs a full rebuild and thats another $3-4k+. Even though it always smokes on startup. Don't trust them anymore so just took the car back & still having constant CEL's. Just admitted defeat & gave up on it while life took over, but now want to get back to it. I need to adjust that TPS screw, find a way to adjust the idle screw on the drivers side finally through all the vacuum & emissions crap, & get that full shop manual & machine. If none of that takes care of it & it really does need a new or rebuilt engine, then I'm thinking might as well LS swap it which is a whole new ballgame. I'm not a mechanic but.... Just locate the ABS fuse and remove it. Don't need to cut the wire.

Well the key ignition switch is easy to replace in the steering column

Bad starter relay, to rest it out you can swap the Ac relay and the stater relay ( which are next to each other and both have 4 pins )

And I don't know this and I have a 351 Windsor 77. It's my baby truck. It's my 67 Ford 1 ton short bed in Roseburg, Oregon. And I love it so much. But my ex-boyfriend just totally dropped it on its case and destroyed it. And I'm trying to get the engine going. So thank you. Because it lraked like a son of a ....... gun. Mines upright and installed, yet my whole truck is taken apart. Cuz he totalled it by droping it from a forklift. Ugghhh. !!!! Yeah. so the cassette shares the same speaker with the AM Radio? i didn't think that would be possible hooking two amplifiers to one speaker. since the cassette is stereo i guess you are only getting one channel from it. i know your probably trying to keep the car original but i wonder if they have a factory AM/FM Cassette radio for this car

So i finally got mine. I purchased the Audiovox UC-10 under dash unit brand new. Or i should say new old stock. But i did not know that most of these units are for 2 speaker vehicles only. Wish i knew that was even a thing before i purchased it because now im stuck with it lol. My car is equipped with 4 factory speakers.

Just use the cd itself, put a pice of tape on it to grab on to it and spray alcohol onto the cd and voila...😆 I have a handheld vaccum need to see where that is but it seems that giving it a good vaccum sucking to get all the dust out might help initially ...😇
