Cabrillo Festival
United States
Приєднався 18 лис 2009
The Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music is all about the new - the here and now of contemporary works for orchestra. During the first two weeks of August each year, audiences are joined by both preeminent and emerging composers, an orchestra of dedicated professional musicians led by conductor Cristian Macelaru, and renowned guest artists from across the globe. The opportunity for composers to work with Maestro Macelaru and musicians skilled and enthusiastic about bringing these new works to life, in the beautiful coastal, college-town of Santa Cruz, California, makes this an artistic paradise. In 2020 and 2021, the Cabrillo Festival presented two seasons of virtual programs, which can be viewed on YouTUbe or the Festival's website: cabrillomusic.org/

Why is it that music people are consistently the worst of all at setting up proper audio, while 14 year olds on tiktok have no problem making impeccable audio set ups in their videos. Why even upload above video when you can't hear anything? Are you stupid?
Such great musical talent at this event. Regular looking people with amazing life skills that inspire 🥁. The me the orchestra represents what a community can do when working together.
🙏❤🙏
Hello. This sounds really interesting. Is there a recording I can listen to please? Thank you
Beautiful music
I send my condolences to the musicians who have to perform this piece that goes on for an hour+.
Great music!
Awesome!
the music would fit really well in Skyrim
The narration was interesting and insightful. The music was impressive (although falling into the Hollywood cliches) seeking to portray the underlying concepts of our civilization although I expected to listen more technical and innovative stuff.
Saw this performed live by the Ft. Collins Symphony (Colorado) last night with the composer in attendance and giving context and history to the work itself as well as voting rights in general. Five Stars! Thx!
1:04 - 1:14 is awesome!
Sasha Cooke! So exciting!
so proud and excited to commission the Wind Ensemble adaptation of this wonderful piece with the CU Boulder Wind Symphony in April!
How adorable and wonderful ! Thank you dear family (Cristi and Maria) love,Galen. I just listened again and again !! Love it!

Wonderful! Thank you.
Wonderful! I love your sweaters! Merry Christmas.
cute
fabulous festival
This is great - thanks so much!
It's a spiritual expirience!
Wonderfully done! Thank you very much!
Bravo! <3
Thank you. I wish Mr. Marsalis could write a book about all his ideas, to be able to sit, read slowly and think deeper about what he says. Really inspiring.
WOW. On Sirius symphony hall now
This is another, superb, beautifully orchestrated, and highly accessible piece by Anna Clyne one of the most brilliant young compose in this country.
I meant composers,of course.
I'm so glad I was led to this recording by the Feminist in the Concert Hall blog. Perfect timing, with a recent passing of Justice Ginsburg. Thank you for sharing this historic event with the world!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Queridos !
Wonderful Piece!! Thank You!
This is wonderful and I am so grateful for the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, conductor Cristian Macelaru, narrator Julie James and especially for composer Stacy Garrop's masterpiece. Thanks go to Svet Stoyanov who 'put' this work together. What a treat to hear these words from our history spoken today with this moving music to accompany them on the 100 anniversary of women's right to vote here in the U.S.
A very moving marriage of words, video and your wonderful music. Thank you and the Cabrillo Festival for your inspiring production.
Wonderful work!
Thank you for the pleasure! To the person who created this video, Mr. Svet Stoyanov - fantastically invented and realized.
Great!
Why, why why?
wonderful music,wonderful music,wonderful music!
Just Amazing
I'm getting excited to play Cabrillo ...
Thank you. I was moved to tears by this. I share this vision and spirit for art making of all kinds.
I was lucky enough to see Evelyn live last night. She is truly amazing, an incredible talent and a beautiful person.
Where did you see her? I'm stuck in the US (aug '16). But yes, easy to get 'stuck' on her. The Cabrillo is an exciting, inspiring venue. Marin Alsop (conductor) will be leaving and missed as will her great ideas on more modern music. Interesting feature: www.npr.org/sections/deceptivecadence/2016/08/06/488664303/a-parting-gift-with-legs-for-marin-alsop-at-the-cabrillo-festival
Thank you, Galen. As a percussionist myself I really enjoyed your dialogue re: packing, setting up and choreography. You are right on! Keep up the good work.
Hi,very nice :-) greetings, Mike
you are farsighted. yay!
I just saw this piece performed by Martin Grubinger and the Kansas City Symphony. Amazing artistry and superb execution. It will remain etched in my mind forever!
We saw the performance and it was incredible!
