I Think battery leaking is a common problem in Fluke Multimeter . My fluke 17b+ had this same problem ( battery leak) Unfortunately i found that very early so my multimeter didn't reach in a bad stage, MY ADVICE TO EVERY ONE :- Please check your Fluke multimer's Battery status ones in a month, Other wise you will face this problem
