Goodbye Mall of the Bluffs
Final walk-through of the now closed Mall of the Bluffs. This was a hard video to get through. reminiscing while looking at old photos of the mall in it's hey-day. I was at this mall for it's opening day and was there for it's final day. This was the mall I hung out at as a teenager and took dates to. To watch it slowly die was heartbreaking.

This is a re-uploaded video showing a walk-through of the Council Bluffs, Iowa KMart closing. Got content tagged for a Christmas song and UA-cams editing tools weren't working, so I deleted it, reedited it and put it back up.

Closing Omaha KMart
Переглядів 5036 років тому
Walk-through of the last KMart in the Omaha, Nebraska area. Wasn't a KMart I usually went to, but drove past it many times. Sorry about the shakey cam at times, was using a GoPro type camera and couldn't see what exactly I was getting. I felt though that I needed to cover this store before it was gone.
B-29 Fifi in Omaha, Nebraska

Wow, meant to put this out last year but forgot about the footage and then had a computer crash. Fifi, a B-29 bomber was in Omaha, Nebraska last summer during August 17-21 in 2016.
Dead Mall-The Center Mall
Переглядів 1,4 тис.7 років тому
This is a walk-through of The Center Mall in Omaha, Nebraska. This former mall, now office center was the first enclosed mall in Omaha. All in all, a nice example of surviving 50's design that was passed on to its sister mall, Westroads. Sorry about my finger in some of the shots, this was taken with a Go-Pro type camera and I didn't notice until editing. Music: Scrapbook by Silent Partner Pass...

This is Union Pacific's 844 making a stop in Council Bluff, IA before heading out in two days to Omaha, Nebraska for the College World Series. It was good to see it after a three year rebuild and was not touring.
Old Trolley Terminal

Video showing the before, during and after of reconstruction of the old Council Bluffs, Iowa Trolley Terminal. I have given some information during the video, but information on this building is scant. If anyone knows when this building was built and what it was actually used for, please post in the comment section. I'm just glad that the city found another use for it instead of destroying it.

They're speaking the language of the gods.
Those birds do congo line.
Really cool!
Two of the ten. No apple of the , well the three musketeers are there to be the check to the ear.
Does anyone have a pick of the giant white tv they used to have hanging with the food
Very interesting video. Thanks for filming.
Spencer’s was never in Midland Mall. Thingsville was in Midlands Mall. Also opened one in Mall of the Bluffs when that mall was built.
I dig that GROOOOOOOVY beat man' 🎶🎵🎼
Best conversation pit! Thanks for sharing... I miss malls like this!
This was the k mart right by my house
The 2 bays you forgot what they were by eb games, was vitamin world. Up too like 04 or 05
On my playlist I have a video uploaded of what it looks like now and areas that were restricted when it was Kmart
Sears thank God still had the same foot print as it did in 1975 when I left Omaha. Still as it looked in 1960 except added floors and the sawtooth roof line in the mall and floor tiles as well the same as day one. Good bye old friend, my Crossroads years were from 1963 till 1975.
Rush Market moved into the former Younkers
They have started demolition of the sears auto building last week ...
That's Izuna Hatsuse for ya!
The tower hasn't been singing for quite some time.
Update: this mall is set to be demolished soon, per local TV station WOWT on April 7, 2020. The tenant businesses were given 30 days to vacate, but at least the managers were courteous enough to give the notice in person: www.wowt.com/content/news/Crossroads-Mall-to-be-demolished-tenants-have-30-days-to-move-569460191.html A local game developer who appears to have their offices in this mall (see 11:59 on the left) has a nice arieal shot of the mall on the contact page on their website: www.skyvu.net/contact
So many memories in this place. It's sad to see it go but its better than seeing it empty for so long. Now we can remember it for what it used to be.
Unfortunately I was too young to experience the Midlands Mall before it was converted. I used to love walking around the Omni Center before and after seeing a movie there. At the time I didn't understand why there wasn't places to eat and shop at. You did a great job of capturing the simple beauty this mall still has.
It is really sad to see Mall of the Bluffs closed that I had a lot of memories over the years of it.
man i have so many memories at this mall
kinda weird but i live right behind this mall. lol one time i snuck in to the underground part of it.
Oakview seems to be somewhat in tact, despite a lack of shoppers.
There was never a Spencer's Gifts at Midlands Mall. It was a place called "Thingsville" which was similar.
Its a shame, such a nice facility too.
This place was legit my childhood did anyone remember jeans toys if you know what happened to him
The white plastic covers along the bottom of the escalators near your feet actually lit up but they turned it off. If they turned on all the lights in that mall it would be beautiful.
In the immortal words of Rambo's commanding officer: "It's over, Johnny!"
almost identical to the surviving Columbia Mall in MO
That play area was awesome like 12 years ago. So was judging the people that walked into HotTopic from our tables at the food court. So was going to gamestop just to look at the new games or get Pokémon events Or going to sports authority RIP mall of the bluffs. It was all downhill since Target left.
Im pretty sure there is a sears in Millard
there is not any more it died around a year ago
Good video. Thanks for filming.
This used to be a very busy place in 50's and 60's, it even had a grocery store for years also besides a bowling alley. It is like a ghost town now but there are still renters. Omaha grew so much that malls like this are becoming dinosaurs. Sad but still a part of Omaha's history.
I worked at this Sears almost four years, from 2008-2012. I managed the footwear department. I noticed they still had the same workboot display fixtures that were new back when I worked there (2009 is when we got them, if I recall correctly). Anyway -- I didn't get out there for the final liquidation sales or last day open for business, so this was kind of like my last walk-through. Thank you for this.
This Sears is now closed as of yesterday (March 10th)
I always wondered if you picked a door lock if it would set off an alarm.
I kinda love Crossroads for how dead it is, but it really is a dump. I think the last time I was there somebody got stabbed in the bathroom and the cops were there. Go with a buddy lol
what happened .... I left omaha on 2001 this is sad
Ed Lara Gangs scared the shoppers away in the 00’s
^
When they say live in the moment you really gotta live in the moment. The Sears store is already closing.
lived in CB for 3 years around this time not sure how it isn't closed, use to be my fav. place as a child.
Does westroads still have the arcade
No it doesn't. The whole basement has been rebuilt into Rue 21.
