​@@RipperMaggoo 5 major holidays, plus 2-3 days before & after where ppl practice, then blow their clearance-sale loads... That's potentially 35 days a year, over a month. And THEN in many areas (3 I've lived in, 1 current), some folks will use ANY darn holiday as an excuse. Valentine's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving... I'm not kidding, even white-bread Confederate-flag-wavers even doing it on Juneteenth (plus the day before & two days after, this year). We're lucky to go 3 weeks before at least ONE group of people sets them off nearby enough to have Cocoa shivering & panting & rushing room-to-room never able to find ample hiding for the 2-3 hours they go at it. Would hate if she was a war veteran to boot. Joy doesn't have to make others suffer. Trading one for another isn't a bad thing, as long as the replacement is sufficiently cool enough to be worthwhile. Drone shows can be that & more.

@@ZaCloud-Animations___she-her That's too bad I'm sorry you have to go through that. I wish it were as easy to say "just move." Other places it really is "one day a year." Where I am from, there are laws prohibiting fireworks in backyards and they aren't sold in my state (not that you can't drive to over the border but it definitely restricts accessibility). Fireworks are generally reserved for 4th of July and shows are professionally orchestrated by local park districts. The city has strict noise ordinances so concerts end at 10 PM and going over time fines the offending artist thousands of dollars PER MINUTE! My parents moved to a state where there are very relaxed laws regarding fireworks and it is a totally different culture. Your struggle is real. 😭

@@ksquallfangirl , Yeah, it can really depend on the area, & sadly moving isn't financially viable right now (the real estate market is crazy now). Plus it's hard to find out how much an area abides by noise ordinance laws, even if they have any. The previous place I lived had strict orders against certain db of noise after 9pm, & even a certain level during the day, but nobody ever obeyed them. Part of why I moved was sleep issues due to the loud partying (& often even fighting) neighbors. I called the cops 3 times on them around 3am, unable to sleep (but mostly worried they were legitimately hurting each other), but they never showed up. My sleep got so bad I now no longer have a circadian rhythm. :( What's frigged up is that I found out why there's been a bigger upsurge than usual for fireworks these past 3 or so years... They have noise limits in place until 8:30 pm for some things & 9pm for others... BUT a few years ago they passed an EXEMPTION FOR FIREWORKS until 10:30pm, all days. Yeah, they get *special treatment.* 😑 That settles it, we accidentally moved into a firework worship cult group! 😵‍💫

It's really personal preference and then we put our own bias and excuses against it. For example, I put up with dogs being insane 365 days a year. 48 people died of dog attacks in 2020 in the USA. That's over twice as many as fireworks in the same year. 12,480 are injured from dog bites that require ER treatments VS. 11,487 for fireworks. I own a dog myself and I love my dog, but I'm not so narrow minded to not realize that a lot of people think they suck. And hey, that's their right, I'm not here to finger wag and blame. The environmental impact of making one drone is about one tonne of fireworks going off. My point is, we all trot out our case. Personally, I'm a statistics guy and fireworks are at the bottom of the list of environmental issues. Pretty lawns, eating beef, etc. are thousands of %'s more destructive to the environment.

Thank you! It was a very emotional moment for me to see God's creatures connect to the people in the boat as if they have known us forever, and it was the first time I saw Whales back in 2013 July. They were mom and a male calf, and kept playing around us for a long time. Every time since that I have returned back to Cape cod, I have not been able to see this so it was very lucky for us to have met them this wa, and on my first time. All the best to you.
