The church of Jesus Christ is a wonderful thing. God welcomes sinful people into relationship with Him through faith in the work of Christ on our behalf. All those who trust in Jesus Christ to save them are united to Him and are part of the body of Christ. This body is universal in that it crosses all geographic boundaries, ethnic barriers, and historical periods. The universal church is represented in local bodies of believers who gather together for regular edification and worship.
