So, believers must be content to believe God is love even when appearances may declare the opposite. His ways are past finding out, beyond human reason, well out of reach until the world to come. The battle between good and evil is ongoing and that much of the conflict takes place in the heavenly realm, but is withheld from our sight. There is a spiritual war ongoing for the hearts of man, as the forces of evil want to turn us away from God and separate us from Him. Ephesians 6v12 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1v17

If we have turned to God in faith, are we rejoicing in our Salvation? We might (in our own 2023 struggles) feel like we are picking up left over grain from an already harvested field to feed ourselves, are we grateful for God’s provision; we might be feeling a bit stressed in our preparations for Christmas, are we grateful for God’s provision? Philippians 4:19 (KJV): “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Boaz - had more that enough Luke 6:38 New International Version 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Amen

So many wonderful nuggets to take away from this sharing of God's word. Thank you Jesus. I was thinking about Christian Joy. Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is my strength. John Piper said that there are other reasons why some Christians can come across as miserable. "Young moms/dads are often surprised at how tired they are - sleepless and exhausted - and they wrestle to find joy". John goes on to say "If you are grieving or suffering, you may not realize that God has specific joys for you in your present circumstance. And don’t forget that our Enemy hates us and will steal every ounce of joy he can". "But the most miserable Christians I’ve seen are those who live with a foot in both worlds". "They hedge their bets. They have one eye on heaven and one on earth. They call on the name of Christ, but they still try to find security, satisfaction, pleasure, or fulfillment from this world. They’re riding the fence. And they’re not happy". The joy of the Lord is a constant gladness and cause to rejoice that stems from an inner strengthening from our relationship with Him. When Jesus died for us, He restored us to a peace with God that cannot be undone. May the joy of the Lord always be with you may God to bless and keep you always, and to fill your mouth with laughter, praise and peace. Amen

Those of us who were saved by grace through faith in Christ alone were once ignorant of the law, commands and promises of God. We were, quite literally, without hope in this world, going along blindly. This is why, for the Gentile, full inclusion, citizenship, and belonging is a most sweet and most glorious thing. We who were formerly 'far off' are now made to be his people, his church. We who were atheists, were without God in the world are now Gods people (saved only by grace, through faith in Christ alone).
