Does this fella have a video on bleeding the clutch ?
Do you know where the central locking module is located ?
Super thanks just changed mine was told by a garage it’s a 2 hour job literally did mine in 2 minutes maximum so helpful thank you
Been at mine for 3 lol
What type of sealant would you use to join the 90 degree elbows to the bottom of the helm? I'm talking about the elbows that the main hydraulic lines connect to.
Question. I’ve replaced all seals at the motor. Both were leaking. I’ve bled the system. Turning wheel clockwise feels good but counter clockwise it’s like it’s grabbing and releasing. Like a piston stroking The steering turns but it’s slower
anyone near Wirral who can fix this please
One of bleeder tubes is stuck down, got any idea how to get back up
I took it apart and there is none in there not sure if there is in that model; can u help me?
is rthere somwhere I can get the pad or air pockets for hh5770
Any ideas which way the sloped bearing carrier goes inside the sloped housing?
Great fix, it worked a treat for me, thanks.
Any link to the tool needed to lock it?
Just look on Ebay, lots of cheap chinese crank holding tools.
Mine had a female npt port for the hoses, no cushions, and a ball check valve under the hose ports that came out with a flat head. Any idea of the model?
Good video, whose rack is that please
One I made myself
Great job!!!!
I've just repaired the hinge with some copper wire and soldering iron. 👍
Thank you for the VIdeo! Just rebuilt my Baystar HH4514 because of a rear seal leak. The internals looked to be in good shape and everything went back together just fine. Everything works as it should, but still have the leak, which appears to be coming from the rear seal. Thought I'd give this a go, but looks like I'm going to have to replace after all.
Hi mate, do you have contact number please ? I’m in Liverpool
Triumph fitted the wrong size master cylinder to the rear brake lucky nobody has been killed.Unlike Yamaha and Suzuki they dont send out recall letters to the second or even third owners which is a poor show considering its a major safety issue.
.....ball check valve, not ball bearing......
Hi I have the same cup holder but all the video I’ve seen are saying you need to remove screws by removing part of the dash.Is it as easy as that? Thanks for posing
Its exactly as a show in the video.
@@wapsac Thanks Paul for that👍
Thanks for the video Paul, it's exactly what I needed to see, saves me butchering something inadvertently lol!
Thank you!! Very helpful.
Can’t really see the setup clearly or in full with spring etc
😊 hallo Paul, super Video, du bist ein Genie. Sehr clever gemacht und vielen Dank für deine gute Inspiration. Viele Grüße aus Deutschland😊😊😊
in a world so fast to throw things away, its great to see a craftsman rebuild something the way it used to be done. I got here trying to diagnose steering issues on my boat - I am pretty sure its the helm pump relief valve - I will send to an expert for a rebuild - good for a small business that employs craftsmen, good for the environment and good for the pocketbook - win - win - win !
At last a video that passes on information concisely with out wrapping it in so much padding you lose track.
Hi ive got a 15 plate vivaro pedal sticking to floor? , no leaks, thanks great video
No hydraulic leaks but steering has locked up. Any thoughts? HH5271h
May be a piston in the helm pump seized up. Slacken off one of the bleed nipples on the hydraulic ram that pushes the motor and see if the helm turns. If not then its likely a fault with the helm pump
Amazing, not planning to do it myself but lovely to know the ins and out of it. Thank you.
Great video Paul. I think I'm going to rebuild my helm pump after watching your video. I have a SeaStar sport tilt model # HH5291. Is the rebuild for this similar to the one you did in the video and would it be the same kit? Thanks
Wish i never started installing the Master cylinder, that part was easy.. trying to undo the bleeder nipple was impossible now proper stuck
Great video.
Paul - who sells this kit, please?
I bought the complete kit from emerald, web site www.emeraldm3d.com. They are also a dealer for the manifold
How did you go about cutting the lexan circle?
Lexan, (polycarbonate) is relatively easy to cut as it resists cracking, you can use a jig saw with a fine blade.
I see why you chopped out the bit talking about the 12v socket!
very good explanation,, I have a problem with my boat helm,. just work for un side,. when spin for the other side just have a noise in to pump ( helm) @3qsoutboard484
Paul thanks really appreciated
i have the same cluster with only the one connection ,,,,how did you change the display ? what did you press
Dear Paul, I have got a Seastar 1.7 hh5217. When turning the weel is feels like the pump is stuttering. Like every time it gives some resistance. Before I open it up, and change all the seals like you did, (thanks for the video by the way), do you have any idea what the issue could be? Appriciate your input!. Best regards, Jan from the Netherlands!
It could be air in the system, these need bleeding quite a lot to clear all the air bubbles. There are a number of videos on youtube on how to do this, on somr occasions I have had to rebleed the system 3 times after the new seals have bedded in. It could be some sticking pistons i the pump itself, but this is unlikly if you have just rebuilt it. Also take a look at the hydraulic Ram end on the motor to see if the seals need replacing. Good luck
Thanks. Haven't rebuild it yet, but am going to. You might have a point with airbubbles. I will keep this in mind!
Thank you! This is an incredibly helpful video.
@wapsac This video is A1 sir!! My steering has been drifting to starboard recently even after I replaced all cylinder seals.. from what I have gathered my issue is likely a stuck check valve in the helm for that starboard side, but the sea star tech said not to open the helm and replace. I think I have found the seal kit on Amazon with the correct pieces and may try it out, looks like it contains 11 total seals and the blue gasket. Does that sound like an accurate diagnosis to you?
Yes, sounds right based on what you have detailed. Make sure you replace the ball bearings with new to give it the best chance of working. When you dismantle it if its full of rusty fluid, clean it thoroughly and check the valve seats. Sometimes they get a bit corroded and will not seal properly. Its then a difficult task to clean them and put the best surface on them that you can.
Very informative and useful video, but the music was really intrusive sadly.
Paul. thank you for confirming...the windscreens do not fit. Mitch
how do you know when it is bad? I "think" my lines are bled, but it still only turns to one side. Sort of lost as to what to check next. Thanks
If therer are no obvious steering fluid leaks, then open the bleed valves one at a time on the outboard steering ram and turn the helm, try both ways testing to make sure steering fluid is coming out of the bleed valves. If this is working then cover the bleed valve to see if it has some pressure behind it. If you can feel the fluid has some pressure then it may be a seal in the steering ram itself that has failed.
Hi paul great video. Can you please tell me what symptoms this helm had before the build. My steering is a lot stiffer than it was originally. It’s a sea star 1 helm from 1990
The steering became vague, it was responding slowly and erraticallly to the helm. Checked for air in the system first, and then decided to rebuild the pump. If yours is feeling stiff it may be worth draining the hydraulic fluid, if it is showing signs of brown rust deposits then it is likley one of the seals has broken down and allowed moisture to enter into the pump and rust the internals. They are mostly made of what looks like cast iron so need to be fully immersed in oil or they rust and the pump pistons start to stick.
Well done that man! I have a 4 leading shoe Fontana brake on a recent purchase and was wondering how to go about adjusting the shoes, thank you!
Thank you for the support and help. This happened to mine. Perfect rebuild and explanation 👌 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Guys, would you know the size of the 6 outer case screws?
Can you explain the bleed process more please? So I replaced my master cylinder. Once done, clutch just slammed to the floor and stayed there. I did what you did with the nipple and the pipe. Am I just meant to pump the clutch shit loads at that point until it stops slamming to the ground and staying there? I felt like I pumped it quite a bit and nothing changed. How many pumps we talking ballpark? 20 or 200? How can I know when it's time to tighten the nipple back up? Cheers
To bleed the clutch effectively you need a vacuum pump. There are lots of videos on youtube how to do this.
@@wapsac Ended up being a crappy part from ebay that was the problem. Got a new OEM master cylinder and a vacuum pump and had it fixed in 10 minutes! Cheers
