I always recommend that you should take the LIKELY highest cost (say, a treasure cruise with 2 mana off via delve) and if it's lower than 7, add 4x the cost in lands, plus at least 2 basics for every color of mana in your deck. Follow this rule if it's 7 or higher, but 3x the cost in lands, and again, make sure to add at least 2 basics of every colour in your deck no matter what

(Please. For the sake of those of us who have to watch you mulliganning over and over to try to get your impossibly rare playable hand, guys.)

@RhysticGamesNZ Depends on the deck, I prefer consistent hands over mull/win, I like battle cruiser decks, so I play for the 3rd to 5th draw meaning 1 to 2 extra lands is exactly what I like to see. It isn't the most perfect statistic but I at least have to worry less about manascrew.

@RhysticGamesNZ It's worse for Modern and older formats like Vintage but in Standard and Commander, I much prefer it. Also thinking about it, it's pretty bad in any limited environment. 15 lands out of 45 cards is pretty rough

Great question, X is actually a multiplication symbol so to figure out the amount of mana needed we need to do a bit of maths. The next part of the equation looks at what is the X in? A circle. So we take pi and multiply that by the number of other cards in your deck that have the same X cost and that will give you an invalid number of lands because you can only have whole numbers… so just put 99 lands instead of

What i meant is that in the start of november my family was literally telling me that due to our financial situation (wich is not good at all) I most likely won't get anything and they told me not to get my hopes up.
