Really interesting idea!
Thank you!
Hi Mac, glad I came across this! Thanks for sharing!
First?
I believe 2nd as a percussion section, 5th as a corps. Might’ve been 3rd beat by BD at finals though.
@@junhwigoo7390lmao I meant first on the video 😂
@@firefeather5gd14 Oh, lol
Crown warmup sequence??
This is still so sick.
Thanks for this, I always like finding some full lot vids
Hi Mac
Oh, hi Lane
one of my friends who just graduated is marching vanguard cadets and i just realized our line is playing a lot of these exercises
It might seem elementary, BUT, I LOVE the gallop exercise!!!! One of my favs!!!BTW, ???????????????? how can ANYONE not like SCV? Just putting that out there. Keep up the impressive work SCV D-Line!
can't tell if this is sarcasm or not
16:15-18-06 is so nasty. Bring the funk!!
I'M in LOVE!!
Add "Battery-Sexual" to the rainbow!
Is anyone else hearing the muffled SCV 2019 tenor feature being played at 11:41 For reference it’s the same feature being played at 16:02
Yeah, I just heard it and I thought I was going crazy. I wonder what it is honestly..
Whose playing that?!?!?! Im seriously mindblown
The guard uses speakers to play recordings of the show for their warmup.
@@randoboy7293 its a recording for the color guard practice

Fukyeah SCV SMOKIN!
Hmm, really chunky tuning, I like it?
too clean for July. make the book harder?
Been like that since day 1.;)
Damn good statement there. Split rolls down the line!
And the Sanford Award goes to.......once again and well-deserved as usual. Thanks SCV for not buckling to the pressure to perform your music while dancing and posing and making silly faces at the crowd as you outscore and outplay all other lines in DCI. You will remember this experience forever. Have fun! I still remember drumming in the heat of summer 39 years later. Never stop drumming. It is a gift. Pass it on to the next generation.
I bet the battery can come up with their own body movements vs. the guard or visual folks making it up for em. They've obviously got their own visuals
The chops at the beginning are too good....
What did you record this audio with??
My iPhone
I cant explain it but it reminded me of the intensity of rehearsal during my days. It took me back to the days of the blank stare, no ticks and near zombie like transformation into a pure drumming machine. If any of the members read this. Dam you guys sound good. Thank you & please dont change.
YAH! Old school SERIOUS & MEEEEEEAN IF YOU'RE NOT!
1981 here.
Spock Roll: 11:44 ... that will tuck me in to bed tonight & provide sound sleep just knowing a roll like that exists.
12:12?????
@@gagemartin4681 That too! Live Long & Prosper!
I value the seriousness aspect of their sectionals (& all). Reminds me of the good parts of the old school "mean" DCI (minus the verbal abuse & "into the ground" negative experience). The exercises are a little more basic, but based on getting them into the essentials, chops etc., which far too many lines don't seem to have these days with their out of the box split snare parts 'n what not. Not sayin' that's bad, but you gotta get things back to basics. They've got that "thousand-yard stare" goin' on! PLUS, Is it me, or are these guys playin' a little more "through the drum" this year?
Morgan Nowlen I wouldn’t say through the drum. That’s not really a Rennick thing.
@@Drumguy65 Definitely not totally, but I hear more meat in the rolls than last year... I was brought up Hannum and I guess I'm always looking for that hammer
41 years ago. Doesn't seem like it's been that long. I'm old school and proud of it !
JONZ
'N!
Thank you so much for this.
0:00-1:14 Me: normal Band 1:15 Me: jk it’s the fantom regiment
Heck yeah! The bass drum run right before the final hit is still magnificent!
😇Lose the electric bill and let the music speak for itself please. Y'all gonna sound badass in the future of this season. Good luck with that Fred Sanford 🏆 though 😇
The hornline sounds amazing this year, the synth/electric strings does nothing but take away authenticity, and it masks the sound of the low brass instruments... Every corps would be better without them, but Phantom especially since their hornline has always been bass heavy
amplification does wonders for the sound of the front ensemble though! it allows the marimba/vibe players to play well, not loud
Hmmmm 2008 hornline sounded better.....of course, probably a better recording.
Or maybe because they had an entire summer and more time to clean it?
Eh- from watching and listening all summer, the hornline could not hold a candle to 2008 regardless of what is played.
Well, that was cool to hear
Still early. Drum line attacks were pretty rough. I wish the drum line music was something more along the lines of what Cadets do during some of their ballads where the line plays balls out at double tempo like an approaching storm.
You recording their preview show tonight?
Nope. I'm sorry! Macomb is a lot closer to me than Rockford. I wish I was there tonight!
Are you recording there dress rehearsal?
That trumpet section tho
I think Western Illinois' mascot #33 just became a drum corps fan. He doesn't move a muscle though the entire passage.
Voice of Reason 🎶😂❤️🥁😇🎺❤️😂🎶
I love the way he's just standing there
Play it with PASSION!
It is what it is.

Any more of the performance you could maybe email to me?
NovaInc. Same tho lol
0:45 You know it's a spicy entrance when the camera has a little stroke.
Sticks?
I believe they use Innovative Percussion FSPR2.
