I agree with that 100%. Me personally I try to get the first video of a new game out day 1, but I have come to a realization that I would rather have time to play the game and not just rush through and get something out.

So far I'm really enjoying the game, it's definitely a great experience so far!

BotW is 10/10, TotK is 12/10

What i like the most about botw is how it reminds me of zelda 1, but i missed the underworld with scary music and tons of enemies. By adding the depths to that world, totk became my favorite of the two.

I know I’m a little late, but I’m pretty sure in the very first game when Link was a kid. I believe he got that stone from her which I know it’s a different version of her I think but he got that stoned from her and she said something about them being engaged now, so technically if we’re going off, the whole phantom thing link had been engaged to her for quite a while a while.

*To further BotW's sheer superiority, I will say this:* TotK's story is bad, Fs with pre-established key lore aspects, absolutely shatters all the Master Sword's reputation, unga bunga buff Dorf with little to no ambition other than "me strongest there is" uninteresting, nearly everyone forgot who you were despite this game taking place a mere 4-6 years after Wild, Rauru existing is an insult, no Fi, no breaking of the Demise curse despite it being falsely hinted being the case what with all the Skyward Sword PR this game got (I distinctly remember Skyward Sword being advertised as heavily linked to TotK somehow which, again, is misleading as on Nintendo's part), no dog petting, no hookshot spiderman swinging with the physics being suuuuch a driving factor in these newer Zelda games, no underwater exploration instead a damp dark smelly overgrown cave can't see jack, COLLOSAL missed opportunity to hitch the princess with her handsome knight in shining armor, no stakes since Zelda's sacrifice was reversed giving the story little to no agency or consequence, Link as a protagonist felt nonexistent feels like everyone else was the star of the show not the guy who's saving all their 🫏s, no Link backstory before any of this went down aka no Arryl 2 or Granny 2 aka NOT WIND WAKER, didn't make me cry like Twilight Princess, dungeons are STILL NOT dungeons (pulling a couple levers to open a door and then be treated with literally the same copy-paste cutscene at the very end with each champion? Yeah naw), sky islands hardly anything worth noting although they are pretty asf to look at, I was expecting a totally NEW revamped endgame super Saiyan master sword golden tier 4 legendary new hilt new everything but naw same design with a booboo scar and hilariously less powerful... hoverbike autobuild pales in comparison to THE Master Cycle As a game, sure, it's leagues above BotW but BotW will never be topped as a one-in-a-lifetime *experience* TotK was an overblown $70 DLC and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Mid.

BOTW is much better. TOTK story is disjointed. BOTW is more visually stunning, and I like the exploration better. TOTK doesn't feel like an open expanse. It feels like you have to go point to point in a huge world instead of an open world where you can go anywhere. TOTK just seems dark (visually). It takes away from the visual impact.

It’s weird for me cus while my first play through of TOTK was one of the best times I’ve had with a game, I felt no need to go back to it for another playthrough. Possibly because it was a 100% playthrough with 300 hours, but while I do enjoy if I go back and start a new file, and I still consider it my fav game of all time, I feel completely content to never play it again. I will also say Botw first playthrough was hands down my fav experience in a game ever

In TOTK i would like more sky islands and i could do without the debts.

TOTK is objectively better in nearly every way. So the answer's pretty obvious for me.

Interestingly, all your points that you chose BOTW for, I would point TOTK to be superior in. I feel like I might be in the minority with this opinion, but I felt like TOTK had the better storyline. Maybe because BOTW was about Link being told "Go defeat Ganon after beating the Divine Beasts (and regaining memories)", while TOTK is more Link searching for Zelda and choosing to help people along the way. Obviously Purah stills tells us where to go but it feels more...natural, maybe? More about Link's own initiative. And there is also (as you mentioned), Zelda's story, which was fantastic. Which brings me to another aspect. On purpose, BOTW feels more lonely. The settlements are abandoned, humanity is surviving in just a few places, everywhere is crawling with Guardians... Its just Link (and possibly his horse) on his own. Whereas TOTK feels more alive. The people are rebuilding, there is construction everywhere and exploring doesn't feel lonely because the avatars of the champions are there. Obviously, this is just personal preference, because both approaches are perfectly valid storytelling options. Going back to BOTW feels empty also because of the lack of caves and wells. I felt strange the first time I went back and tried to jump in a well...only to realise it was blocked off.

I'd return to TotK over BotW any day...TotK isn't devoid of content like it's predecessor was 🤷‍♀️ I can't see myself returning to Beta of the Wild TBH, 600 hours in BotW...3300 hours in TotK lol

Totk have better gameplay and map, Botw have a better story, characters and experience.

I like Tears of the Kingdom more because of the reasons you mention why it is technically superior plus it allows for more creativity for solving problems plus I like making machine and weapons.

I disagree that Eldin Ring is better than pokemon red because Eldin Ring's camera control and motion blur give me severe nausia.

not gonna lie. i like tears slightly more because the verticality and the depths that add so many more places to move around and the things you can do and devices you can make. they are both sandboxes but tears has slightly better tools and more room to use them, imo

link being able to do power wave automatically makes totk the better game

To me, TOTK is the superior game, I haven't been able to play BOTW since. But, NOTHING could ever beat the first-time experience of BOTW.

Someone once said that tears of the kingdom is the worst 10 out of 10 game ever made.

They made ToTK initially as just DLC for BoTW. I agree BoTW is my personal “better game” even tho ToTK is superior imo, nothing beats that first playthrough of BoTW. However that leads me to believe that if they’d just released BoTW DLC with the features of ToTK and maybe a smaller plot line of the past and Zelda that could have been a $50 DLC and still have been worth it while catapulting the amazement of BoTW. Great video btw
