It is possible that Lippert makes some fine products, but their alleged troubles in the RV trailer frame business have REALLY harmed their reputation. I cannot imagine choosing to expand my business into handling Lippert products within the last couple of years, just like becoming a peddler of Chinese products seems unhelpful to the brand of a US company. I understand that Lippert's RV frame problems are likely at least partially the fault of the RV manufacturers, and hope that Lippert and their RV manufacturing customers can find their way out of their current quality difficulties. Until these problems get resolved and some time passes, I consider the Lippert name to be too toxic to touch. While Dexter is better at US sourcing than Lippert for axles, I would like it if Dexter could reverse their trend of sourcing some components from offshore ("offshore" is a euphemism for China).

It sounds like you are stocking lippert now and trying to justify them I've had several sets of lipperts with many many issues

I’ve seen 2 lippert axles break the welds at the spindle, that’s 2 too many for me. We’ve bought and built many trailers over the years and never had 1 Dexter fail. Torsions and sprung ranging from 5K, 7K even 10K tandem duals, all rock solid and reliable. I’m shopping for a travel trailer currently ,if it isn’t Dexter equipped it’s a no go.

Very thorough video. Thank you for putting this together! Gravity drop cylinders could have a flow valve added to the hydraulic line, which would control decent in the situations you mentioned. Also, torsion axles would probably be fine for a single axle trailer since they wouldn't be dealing with any equalization issues.

Agreed to all except the powder coat isn't good on a trailer! You want wet paint finish that covers everything not ending up with pin hole rust.

⁠ hi I’m looking in to getting in the junk removal business. I was thinking about the f250 or 350 with a trailer. If that falls in the cdl category which I have a license already does that mean u have to get dot also. Also what’s better diesel or gas?

Real good video, probably the best one ive seen in regards to dump trailers. He breaks it down and gives suggestions i had never considered. 👍🏼👍🏼 especially when dealing with a scissor lift, that it matters for different reasons which was its facing
