A new turbine and generator stator were some of the major replacement components installed as part of the rebuild of Unit C4 at Callide Power Station. More than 570,000 hours have been worked on C4 recovery works to date. Thanks to our contractor Toshiba for this time lapse footage.
Callide Unit C3 returns to service on 1 April 2024.

CS Energy is adding a clean energy hub next to Kogan Creek Power Station in Queensland's Western Downs. The clean energy hub includes the Chinchilla Battery and the Kogan Renewable Hydrogen Demonstration Plant. In the future, CS Energy also plans to add a hydrogen-ready gas peaking power plant to the site.

Would have been nice to have something longer, and with sound.
Alternator blew up,not the turbine,though so.
So the alternator blew up,not the turbine?????
Both were destroyed. The shaft connecting the low pressure turbine to the generator was torn apart by the mechanical forces and thrown onto the turbine deck. Damage elsewhere on the machine can be seen in the picture released by the owners two years ago.
Still none the wiser cause of explosion????
I feel for all the workers in this sector, but the LNP/Nations are doing noone a favour (in my opinion) by trying to continue the lives of fossil fuel power stations and mining beyond the time frame the market will limit them to. It will just make transitioning all the harder. I grew up in the Latrobe Valley and know the pain of losing industry, but change is upon us and I hope that every worker is able to find a new role as the world continues to change.
Too bad it blew up.
It wasn’t this unit that blew up though.
