Families keep way too many secrets. They protected the man. The family didn’t want people to know this monster was a relative. Sadistic!

This did not happen in the 1940s or 1950s. This is kinda recent. Where protective measures and access to services have been put in place. There was a story within the past 2-3 years where a 21 year old man got a 12 year old girl pregnant. When she went to the hospital to have the baby, the dad showed up. He was arrested. I think it was a Mexican family. There were baby shower pictures and everything. Seems like the family was very supportive. In both of these cases, the little girls had no protectors and no voice. In this particular story, this girl was failed by her family, the school, and the hospital. It's a horrible shame.

I have never heard someone else say the EXACT same thing I did at 5, when I realized my older sister was somewhat special needs. (She is high functioning) I chose never to be mean to her. I chose never to hit back. I chose to take care of her when I needed too, growing up. While I don’t have to as an adult, I still make sure her feelings are taken care of. I love that he did that for his mom too.
