Yeah I unboxed base game and leaders and lore pack first and just played with that for a bit to get a hold of it. Then I opened the Campaign box and was like: Well everything is organizing in here now cause it's brilliant storage. lol. I think I'll keep the base game box for travel purposes since I doubt I'll play much of the campaign on a trip. But maybe I will? lol I don't know. I didn't like how the fate pieces organized into the dividers so I organized my four card wells into the following: Top left: Act 1 cards, Top Right: Act 2 & 3 cards, Bottom Left: Action and Court Decks, Starting cards and Scrap, Bottom Right: All the Fate tokens. We'll see how well that system works in the future but for right now that's how might work.

His 5 published games could very easily be my top 5 games. Verdict is still out for me on spectral but the 3 games of it I’ve played have been awesome. I’m surprised you haven’t played Bear Raid! It is very up your alley I think

Lord of the Hundreds came in dead last because everybody gangs up on him, and because his scoring model is so simplistic and easy to predict that it makes it easier for other players to defeat him if they form an alliance. All you need is a unified front line to deny his advancements. The fact that everyone's afraid of his mob tokens' fire 🔥 spreading to their clearing randomly (even if he didn't want it to spread there) makes POLITICING with the Lord of the Hundreds impossible. So they'd rather keep you far, far away from their bases rather than ally with you, and risk the mob token unintentionally spreading to their vital infrastructure. As the The Art Of War states: Appear strong when you are weak. Appear weak when you are strong." The fact that they can never [voluntarily] appear weak is their greatest weakness.

I don't know how you gathered these stats but if you somehow were able to track final scores for each game (or even round by round scores (THATS A LOT OF DATA)) that would be super interesting to see! Great video!

Blaming failures of the crew on the captain is a great idea to ease struggling players into the game. Stealing that for sure! Great list too!

I think a planned turmoil strategy would have to involved charismatic + holding onto your bird cards. Put all suited in for 3-ish rounds, end of round 3-4 turmoil yourself on build and lose two points! Then utilize bird cards you’ve ideally built up and your plethora of warriors on the board to make a powerful steady eyrie.

Loved this video! Would love to see analysis like this of other games too, mostly because I’ve not been playing as much root recently. 1830 would be awesome to see, but there are no structured tournaments at the moment as far as I can tell. Loads of data with .games, but a lot of them could have wildcards that might not be the best examples of play

After seeing these stats, I'm real curious to see how the faction winrates may have changed between rounds. It was my (semi-serious) impression that, while everyone at the con was good at the game, those who progressed furthest were the people with that barbarian lust for blood and victory points.
