Sold a few years ago

I sold it five years ago to someone in Turku, Finland. I don't know what has happened to it since then. It's recognizable by Swedish sticker on the fuel door and Swedish tax disc. I wish I could buy it back!

@@markreed9701 Yes, there is no doubt this is my Vespa now :D Unfortunately the condition was worse then in your video. Also it didn't run well in the beginning of the year. A big problem to me was the not original paint at the front which I didn't recognize when I bought it (I thought that the original paint would be underneath). But after deleting the upper paint with a little bit of acetone, I realized that there is no original paint underneath left, so I decided to blast and repaint everything of the Vespa in original Max Meyer paint Grigio metallizzato. All parts are already freshly painted except of the frame because of an accident damage on the left side. I got to fix this damage first before the frame can be painted. I think someone crashed the Vespa before the year 1973 (because of the Vignette from 1973 on the not original paint) on the left side. This week I'll reassemble the engine with a new crankshaft and so on. When disassembling the engine, I remarked that the cylinder is drilled to 57,6 and the piston is from Meteor - did you change the piston back then? You can also see some damage from a piston seizure under the cylinder head. I'll buy a new one. Maybe I'll keep the Meteor piston and only change the rings. Maybe I'll let the cylinder drill to 57,8 and buy a new piston. I'll decide this this week. I'll also start a restoration blog when the Vespa is finished. To show you that your former Vespa is now really in my possession, I'll upload a few videos on youtube that I made, so you can see that it's your former vespa...

@@markreed9701 I uploaded 4 videos on my channel. When you pause them, you can see that my GS was your Vespa once (the vignette from 1973, the black sticker from a finish garage, the not original paint and scratches etc)

@@vespavideos_insta Yes, it must be the same bike! Too bad it seems to have gotten a lot worse in the few years since I sold it, but I am glad you are taking good care of it. In the second video I posted I mentioned that I thought the bike had been crashed and the front end repainted. The man I bought it from in Stockholm had owned it since 1963 and told me he did not ever crash himself, so it happened within the first two years of the bike being new. Maybe it was damaged during shipping when it was originally sent to Sweden from the factory. It ran perfectly when I sold it in 2017, on the original piston, seals, etc. I even rode it on the motorway frequently with no problems. The owner after me must have seized it and replaced the piston--maybe that explains the sticker from a Finnish garage. I would bet he did not mix enough oil. I have photos I can send you if you want them.

@@RudinBrodic of course Not am just a dreamer like You are, But in my Real dreams I rode an NSU 150 3 different Lambrettas 1 Vespa n once I bought my first Zundap Bellas 200cc I rode nothing else but Bellas till I bought my first car, also had a FB 150cc if I remember a Villiers engine n a Garelli I do not remember 125 or 150 cc, but never bought a new one keep dreaming

@@polygamous1 I've just restored my fathers Vespa GS 150, 1961. I'm driving it every chance I've got. Father cried when he sit on her. He instantly remembered his youth. Vespa is a dream to ride. It's just tilted a bit to the right side and that's it. Though I can't compare to Lambretta or Bella cause I haven't driven those.

@@RudinBrodic When your young well for me anyway the Real fun of riding Any bike is Not top speed but cornering specially on country lanes, n as such the Vespa was Never in the top League, Both Lambrettas n Bellas even of course they where never in the same class as bikes with Real big wheels they where a Lot better than Vespas where, its for the same reason My All time favourite car of ALL times is the Elan, the first time I drove one ( I was a delivery driver) mainly delivery new or old cars, words cannot describe how I felt, But I thought this car is designed for Gods by Gods the instant you put your foot on the accelerator there was a push on your back the same with the breaks n the steering was out of this world the car started turning at the same time you turned the steering, as for the E type when as far as I was concerned it was for show down King's road in Chelsea I never liked the E type much But the Lotus Elan will Always for me be the Real King of the roads remembering of course my own car at the time was a Consul MKI 1956 I paid £20 for it, that I hated after the Elan n managed to get a Cortina MKI 1200 cc
