The Poverty of You | Roderick and Annabel Lee Funeral Scene | The Fall of the House of Usher Netflix
Sorry, I had a 5 min edit version of full scene but Netflix won't allow posting videos larger than 3 minutes so I had to upload half of it.

So wait, Did Annabelle Lee. Took her life away or was she murder? Because I was lost by the hole in her head? Plus she gave, Rodrick a great speech to him that he needs to learn, but it’s too late for him and his family specially that ugly sister of his.

Relics of grief line the path of misery. Those relics may be perceived as the failures of those who came before you...but they are also a guide. One step. One breath. One moment at a time. Perseverance is the catalyst that sparks hope.

Even more sad than how Roderick ruined their relationship is what it did to their two children. One became addicted to drugs and a jealous obsessive monster. One became so terrified of what people saw when they looked at her that she couldn’t be emotionally vulnerable enough to let anyone in. They became selfish and cruel and uncaring and heartless. I can’t imagine Annabel Lee’s pain in watching it happen and being unable to stop it

There is always one scene or quote in a Flanagan show that gets me. The death quote in Midnight Mass. The Paris dialogue in Bly. And when the one psychic girl finds a young girl.is being molested in Hill House.

Luxury and endless opportunities at the expense of millions of lives that Roderick and Madeline and that toxic ass company would destroy. That's what she walked away from. God forbid someone in that family have a conscience.

My favourite scene in the whole series. The acting (both of them) is absolutely amazing and the music so beautifully emphasizes the tragedy. This scene also perfectly summarises the main message of the whole show without laying it too thickly (as it's done later in the same episode) and the words spoken by a heartbroken mother just have so much more weight and deserves so much more compassion.

I am so happy how this scene came up. It took the writers 2 years to create this scene. Her look was decided from a woman that lost her Husband to suicide her words and her breathing patterns as she uses syllabus snake like sensation and desolation from breaking in the way she pressed her lips.
