    Hello Oyinda. I want to touch a bit on the subject of world building. So many times when I'm reading a story and the world in which the story is set, it can be somewhat of an insult to the reader's intelligence. For instance if the climate or terrain don't make sense for the sustainability of the creatures or inhabitants. I always say that writers have to be very good at lying and a lie isn't very good if someone can say to themselves "that doesn't make sense". I have a friend who designs video games and the struggle is always around the development of a world from a story that has too many holes in it. Terrain, weather, plants, people, animals and all the things that create an ecosystem which needs to make believable sense to the reader's. Anyways..... Just my uneducated opinion. 😊

      Hey Nova. Definitely even when writing fantasy things 'not making sense' can be jarring and kick the reader out of the story. I've had this happen to me whilst reading before and I couldn't finish the book.

    Hi Oyinda. It was such a breath of fresh air and encouraging to listen to you again. I got offline for a while because I was struggling with some depression. I unsubscribed to everyone and turned off my computer. I'm back and feeling better. You have no idea how much of a blessing you have been in my life. Thanks for all you do. Also, what time do you have your "Write with me?" I can't seem to catch you on time. ♥☺

    I am a writer, published author, and just finished my 1st Novel and 3rd book.My daughter is a graphic designer and is also marketing my book. I never knew that branding myself and having a website would get me Out there like it is.She put me on TikTok too. Your books need to be promoted there too. The handwriting is a lost art..it's your brand, and I hope your page takes off! 🎉

    This is the reason i love fictional stories. I write from a perspective of being a good liar and also being the writer is like having a time machine. One can easily go back and fix or adjust the events.

    Hi Oyinda, so was wondering when you stated you were handwriting it to put it into a computer and toss it in the bin. Do you feel handwriting the story helps you focus more and helps free up your creativity more? I ask because I've been really looking into the subject of handwriting my novels more before documenting them on the computer.

    • @thefantasystoryteller
      @thefantasystoryteller 14 днів тому

      Hiya. Handwriting definitely makes me a lot more connected to the story. It's a magical feeling. My advice is to try it and see how it goes. It might unlock your creativity even further.

    Hi Oyinda, lately I’ve been struggling to get back into my writing. I recently had to make a big move which required me to take a break from a lot of my personal projects for about 2 months. Now I’ve just been having a tough time getting back into it after taking that break. Do you have any experience with this kind of writers block, and if so what have you done to help jumpstart up an older in progress project?

    • @thefantasystoryteller
      @thefantasystoryteller 23 дні тому

      I'm so sorry to hear this and it is extremely difficult. I'd say go for a walk, run or whatever you need to clear your head. Go back indoors and set your phone to a 15 minute timer and write the first thing that comes to your head. Write for 15 minutes. I'm sure you'll go on for longer.

    People who think they can convert anybody is the real magician. You feel with your heart. Manipulation can be a form of the dark arts. An author that can reverberate a sense of fear on a page and have a reader experience that same , is more powerful then someone making anyone feel less of themselves for their own sake.

    What a good idea ❤I only have access to my cell phone at work but I’ve recently started writing in google docs and I’m managing to get a bit of progress made here and there. My main issue, and I’d love to hear your suggestions about this, is getting my mind in the right ‘vibe’ to write while I’m at work.

      I think the 15 minute sessions forces you into the right headspace as you go into a quick reset and have to get your words down. The timer is key especially when you know it's counting down. 😊

    Nice looking bit of country, really enjoyed that, thank you. I can't understand how people can live without some wild country close by, but to each their own I guess. I'm lucky enough to live on property that includes a section of natural bush, as well as having a creek frontage and a large nature reserve behind us. Australian, so I don't really have worries about anything eating me, so bonus. Just got to mind where I'm putting my feet 🙂
