Some 14 year old boys playing an old classic on piano covered by many artists including Woody Guthrie, Dylan, Animals, Hendrix, White Stripes, Muse, etc.
We boo the English but it is just fun, I don't think there is one ounce of dislike in that, well if we do not respect an English team like that one we are fools
Indeed, we can only repeat...when will we see their like again
This song is about Flodden.
Tukalo genial
Scotland gave their all....Passion and bravery
Good-natured booing ???? I still get goosebumps watching David Sole's gladiatoral walk as he leads Scotland out and that singing of Flower of Scotland ALWAYS makes my eyes well up
i loved this when it was adopted from the Corries
I remember watching the match and when the Scottish anthem came on, I thought that was like a 7 point headstart :). Great game
I enjoyed watching you play the Piano. When you started to sing . I was amazed on by the whole recording. "GREAT JOB"
I am English, but people forget that of this Scotland starting XV, eight had been selected for the Lions tour of Australia in the summer of 1989, and in fact 6 of them had started at least one test match v the Aussies. They were a good team full of high class players.
xpat73 I'm Scottish and they were a very good team so thank you
Yeah mate.It was a bit of a fluke that all those World class players were together,at that time.Plus.This was a very good English side.Finley Calder(The winning British Lions Captain against Australia) was immense in this game.
england arrived, thinking they had won it, but left realising the other team, Scotland had won it!
As were England...slick backs hard forwards they gave us a great match
Oh Bil. Some good natured booing?
+Gallowglass No, just a balanced commentator. He was always like that, no matter who was playing.
By christ they dont make them like this anymore.
As an England fan i can say that Scotland should have won more than they did back then. They could have won more GSs and they should and could have beaten the ABs in New Zealand. The Hastings brothers, Calder, Jeffrey, Sole, Cronin, Reed, Armstrong, Stanger were great players and England were a good side back then so you had to be good to beat them :)
Yes , they were really great, they were lightweights compared to today, but thats another story. They had a great team and welded together. No single player stood out but they were outstanding all the time on the run.
REALLY GREAT
Seriously the guitar ruins this very very much.
it's a bit much dont ya think ?
Great vocals, and very good piano! Well, the other 'noise' I can live without...
!990 that qwould be the moment to be a Nation Once Again. But now is really the time to Be A Nation Once Again. Let England go down and Be A Nation Once Again. Scotland will flourish and England will loose.....And for all not alone leave England alone also leave the EU and you will flourish more and more! Go Scotland Go!
One of the greatest games ever. And has there ever been a better announcer in any sport than Bill McLaren?
No.
@Sepahaka what was the score between scotland and argentine then??
as is the name of the second center (13) of england? Excellent documentary...!!! I like Scotland. But, come on "Pumas" this Saturday in Mar del Plata Argentina! jaja Make it a great game!

I'm English but this game was a classic....nobody gave Scotland a chance really. England had slaughtered every team by wide margins including an absolute thrashing of France in Paris...which believe me, in those days was unhread of as France had alot of great players. Fair play to the Jocks...they deserved to win and had some great players.
xpat73 jocks sonny?
why doesnt someone post the match... or more footage of the game???????
that guitarist goes way off key for a while.. piano was very good though
shoot the guitarist!!! bahhh!!
@ finging1 I was probably right behind you at the clock end. Everything big Gav say about the crowd is exactly as I remember it and almost word for word how I still tell it today. And as dear Bill McLaren might have said I was dancing in the streets of Edinburgh that night.
Bill McLaren, you will live forever in our ears.
RIP Bill. Flower of Scotland - we'll never see your like again.
I agree - Part 2 please!
Very good boys.Congrats, best regards and greetings from Rio de Janeiro 2 u all. Yeah!!!Go,go,go,go...
his voice is way to high fro it to be cool, but its good in performance one the instruments, besides the guitar player. sounds like he was trying to drown out the singer
and they won and lived happily ever after. now go to bed.
I think the guitar player is trying to play like Randy Rhodes. He has a good playing ability. Keep it pure and it will be better like at the end. Good over-all.
WTF was the guitar solo:S?
its probably done on a cam of some sorts so of course its not gonna pick up the drums. but u must be deaf cuz i can hear the bass no problem?
guy....(directed at guitar) the scale to improv on is Am pentatonic!...you only played in Am pentatonic once lol....not random notes, learn guitar...i sound like a random flamer...but seriosly man
good job
