Is it better to size up into 33x32??? 33x32 will be a little baggy at first, because they are also high waisted in the cut. Jeans became popular in the late 1800s when XX began to be used, and many copies of Levi's jeans were on the market. Most denim fabrics at that time were 7oz. Levi's uses 9oz denim, which is higher quality, thicker and more durable than regular denim, for its jeans. The word "Extra Exceed" started to be used to describe jeans that are better than other jeans. Times changed, and in the late 1960s (around 1965), the superior quality of Levi's jeans was widely recognized, and the "XX" designation, which meant high-quality denim, was omitted.
