I love seeing Red Tom here.. I spent all day fashioning a net and he dragged it out of my granny’s driveway with his truck all the way from Kinturk to the Battery Bar in 1971 😂😂😂… my uncle Joe McKee laughed God rest his soul😂🙏🏼
I was there that day drumming for the Mullan Accordion Band Kilrea, 15th August 1976. I was just about to turn 13 years of age. The weather was glorious with loads of sunshine and there were over 50 bands on parade. There were huge crowds of spectators and a great day was had by all. We can be seen at the end of video part 1 playing Roddy McCorley.

Telling comment on "looking more dated " on our `70s gear. God didn`t I think I was cool itself in my purple crimplene suit with huuuuuge collars and a kipper tyre that was a danger in any kind of wind. My platform shoes that looked like divers boots. The baggy shapeless trousers and all in a material that generated enough static electricity to be banned by current fire regulations. Not exactly breathable either. No wonder the heavy use of Brut and Hai Karate were essential if you wanted to find a girl.
Lovely soul.
Great to see Eamonn Stinson playing bodhran
I first heard my uncle Naily proudly singing his own composition 'The Tern and the Swallow' for my mother, his sister Sadie Coney Connolly, in his kitchen about 35 years ago!
Isn't that the tune of Farewell and Remember Me by Boys of the Lough? The female part I mean.
Good man Hammond !
Martin mccaughey in the green jacket.
At 0:41?
@@JB-qr2jq nah at 5:03 walking alongside the coffin
Seen. I wonder if Martin knew then he would himself be dead. He was a marked man by all accounts.
@JB-qr2jq once you take on the sas your most definitely a marked man. A British army commander once stated the good ones are dead. And he was right, Lynagh,McKearney McElwaine,Grew, McCaughey, etc..
Wtf camcorders a funeral ! Sad bstards
Who attacks and intimidates funeral goers? Oh, the British army and RUC that's who.
The uvf finished you off you fenian bastard
Brilliant rendition. I like the way it's been adapted at the end for an Irish soldier. Go raibh míle maith agat.
Maybe get ur facts right before making videos the Lough is not in the British isles or any part of Ireland I not to many people in ardboe would disagree with me
