On the sandbar
Переглядів 11Рік тому
JUNE 2022… I had never been out to a sandbar at low tide at my dad’s beach. Finally did. I was about 100 yard off of the beach and the water was only up to my knees. Probably could have gone out another 50 yards.

I started on Dutch Potts Hollow Road and followed the trail. Cavender Branch road was probably my favorite. Had no idea I was so close to South Tatum Road, will hit that next time.

Pitcock Road to deep creek crossing and back; Smith Hale Rd to Westmoreland, TN.
Used to be some great trout fishing along the creek when TWRA stocked it.
To switch transfer case to 4low transmission must be on neutral. 👍
You ran this coming from east to west?
Where is this road located? I live in kingsport in northeast tn near the websr city tn/va state line.
Man i could show you a real fun loop around there. Its not really part of the Dirt Devil. Thats why its so far out. But my friend Scott showed me a loop out that way we call Scooter's Loop. I showed it to the Dirt Devil crew. Which maybe where youve seen it. I really enjoy the loop.

Still closed?
Is this road called old lick rd ? I’m trying to find it on my map guid. If so it’s only 30 min from me
I did this same route at the in August 2022, and had a blast. It had just rained for 3 days, so the water was higher, but my buddy in a stock wrangler made it through just fine. Highly recommend.

How long ago did you ride this trail? Going up this weekend and was gonna take the new 4runner through there
Hey man its cool you live in gallatin, I live in Portland tn, we should meet sometime. I have a 2008 jku. I would love to go down some of those trails. Thanks again for the videos I've watched most of them.
Thinks for the video, awesome job, videos like that helps people on what to expect. I'm gonna try to make it down there soon. Far as shifting into 4LO its a jeep thing, What I have found out it is go at slight crawl shift into neutral then shift into 4 Lo. Need to be neutral when shifting in and out of 4LO hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing this. I followed your route on a map and it looks like it was just a loop once you turned onto Tom Patton Rd. Is that right? What % of the total TN Dirt Devil is this ride? I'll be up that way in a month and looking for this kind of road for some dual sport riding.
Yes, it’s a loop. I’d say this is maybe 15% of the Dirt Devil, but I’ve only done several parts of it, and I don’t have the actual map. I’d definitely check it out.
Also in Mid TN, how long is this route? Thx for sharing!!
All told, it’s about 115 miles. On Facebook, there is a page called Hidden Gem Adventures. You can join the page, and in the “files” section is the GPS file. One of the admins mapped it out over two years. Great ride.
Where do you find the map for this? I'm nearby and want to check it out.
There’s a Facebook group called “Hidden Gem Adventures”. If you join the group, there’s a Gaia gps file in the “files” section on the group page. It’s worth checking out… it took the guy who mapped it out two years to do it, and it’s a great drive throughout the country and the woods.
@@thenextfifty414 thanks for the tip. I'm also in mid TN area so if you want to ride let me know.
@@thebeerford nice, I usually go most Sunday mornings but could do a Saturday for a longer ride.
