beaufort is a confederate solider in the quintet and the early solo shows with hank winter, sally changed his uniform to a navy outfit to not offend anyone.

To be fair, none of them are American and with a name like "Daniel and the Dixie Diggers" (I feel like that could make people do a double-take or cause a slip of the tongue) and the bear-dog in-question in the back on the left, there's a lot going on here, I feel like the confusion is justified.

Dixie is another term for the southern states(the music also indicates its intended to be early 1900s most likely late 18000s), also look at the drummers hats

@@Dropkickurteacher You are correct about the music being from the early 1900s. I believe the the song being played is Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag. I already noticed the hat the first time watching the video. However, I don't think one article of clothing necessarily makes a uniform. I (neither being a white person nor a southerner) own a reproduction confederate hat myself and wear it every once in a while for hunting or just going out and about. It was a lucky find at a pawn shop in Kentucky. They sold it to me for a little over $10.

those "stuffed things" moving around are Daniel and the Dixies Diggers, a Animatronic Ragtime band created by the Sally Corporation in 1981, composed of 5 characters: Colonel Beaufort T. Beauregard the 3rd on Drums, Sir Percival "Percy" Perry on Clarinet, Scratchmo on Trumpet, Huck L. Berry on Banjo, and Daniel T. Bones on piano.

This is at Rusutsu resort in Japan, there's a video from 2008 on UA-cam showcasing them in very nice condition at this same location, and then fast forward to today.. Yeah.
