Simple advice for Unity game devs
Переглядів 3,3 тис.3 роки тому
The importance of playtesting is probably the first thing you learn in a game design class lol but for whatever reason it hadn't occurred to me until recently that I could improve my game so much faster by essentially making it a digital board game and only automating the mechanics once I've actually playtested them. Also I'm still working on my Dungeon Crawler, but sometimes I come back to my ...

Interesting and very useful videos, it's sad that you stopped doing this 😥
cool bro
Such a wholesome learning project that still looks completely professional!
Sad to see you not posting anymore atm but just wanted to say thank you for all the great educational content you’ve provided us with! Really means a lot!
when Koreans didn't really consider lol as a job, lol that time was so memorable.
can i recreate this game in 2 month with your code???? ;)
My I'm so in the weeds that everything in this video was obvious to me.
Hello! could you guide me to where the script for the board card movement is? To specify, when a card is played, it shows in the center of the board, then when a second is placed, they are both centered to the middle, and when a card is destroyed, the remaining cards on board are recentered. how does this work? thank you!
this is very nice, thank you for sharing this. I am trying to animate Texas Hold'em Poker card game. I am programming the game using C++ and SFML.
How did you handle the "perspective effect" on the grid, in your game?
If you don't mind, could you show me the scripts for UnitManager and CardManager? I tried making it myself, but I can't reproduce it well.
Ayyy baby I'm still here 😊
KEEP THIS BANGER OF A VIDEO ALIVE , XPEKE & SKT T1 MOMENTS.
where I can change the size of the pokémon image?
Great video, can you do a tutorial pls?
As a person with zero knowledge in coding or programming of any kind who is just starting to look at it, this is not that confusing, it's very well explained
brother im new to this but im happy on your explanation what editor do you use
hi there do you still exist
Very interesting and funny X3
Hi Dicko! I'm copying your project and making a fan game CCG. I'm currently running into a problem, which also occurs with the same symptom in your project. the problem is Connect to the game opened with the build exe file as host(server+client) After connecting as a client to a game in the Unity engine. If the host(server+client)presses G and drop 1 cost duck and EndTurn, and then the Unity engine player(the client)points to the hand cards and moves out of the right, an error appears. "(GameManager.CallRpcCardHover (System.Single moveBy, System.Int32 index) (at Assets/CCG/Scripts/GameManager.cs:53))" I cant understant why this happen so can you help fix this?
How would you do it if you wanted to handle turns simulteously how would it change? Thanks for the vid very helpful
You are the best! 2 years later and I am using this. New Subs, you deserve more!
What would be the easiest process or approach to use custom cards for this? Thank you for this lesson!
spaghetti code
Love this video, thanks!
Crazy to see how much the game has grown. For better or worse.
I have a TCG that is pretty solid, but I’d like to make it to an online game and am struggling with game development (never tried before and don’t know much) thanks for this video, would love for advice or tips!
Hey Joseph, Im in a similar boat, maybe we could work together, if not maybe help eachother out, let me know if you would be down!
@@DanMProductionsBois👏 what a sweet soul!
still working out?
Hey, how can I reach you, do you have a discord?
I know this is old but you could in theory have cards programmed to be in same position and just rotate player 2’s camera 180 degrees. That’s what I would have done. Other option is to make sure object and UI are being rendered on different cameras and just multiple player 2’s final camera rendered texture on y by -1.
Hey Nick, do you do any kind of game development contract work? Am currently working on a project converting a tabletop game I created to a mobile game that strictly just needs a dev (which, try as I may, I am not). Would love to chat with you if you're interested.
Is there any way to let Mirror have Voice Chat with free?
GG! great video!
Hey mate do you run an Ark cluster?
great tutorial. is it also possible for you to show the card draw animation code. I have been trying to implement your way with DoTween however I am failing to achive the same results as you show in your game. Would be very appreciated if you could make a video on that.
Really nice. I appreciate the DoTween tips. Looks great. Would love to see an update!
Pretty Cool, how did you create the grid zones?
Dicko do u have a discord or group app?
looked through ur channel and found out you’re the guy who made that League Isn’t just a game video I watched back in highschool now I’m a videogame programmer lmao feels like we be running the same life path idc if you keep uploading or not, subscribed just to say thanks for all the videos
@dicko "I'll fill this out in the morning"
Would you recommend Mirror for a turn based strategy game?
first you made a crossfire tutorial on how to control your recoil then this

Less than 1min in and already referencing one of the worst CCG ever created: Hearthstone...
In terms of visual aspect and animation, hearthstone is one of the best
@@שחרבוכניקבוכניק1st) It's a card game, the least important thing are the "visual aspect and animation" . 2nd) By saying that, you're already dismissing all the cardboard CCG's, so your knowledge on the topic is totally flawed...
@@perrymanso6841 thats is not right at all, hearthstone wouldnt as nearly so popular without his striking visuals and flashy designs. If you are telling me that visuals and design are least important, then may i suggest you go play poker or something more blunt
@@שחרבוכניקבוכניק I may suggest you to learn about reviewing games and how and/or why HS has the popularity It has. FIRST, comes from a HUGE company with a ton of AAA games behind like Activision Blizzard. SECOND, HS is based from a HUGE IP called Warcraft and hence It's big catch. THIRD, It's a dumbed down version for kids of one of the best CCGs ever created MTG. THAT's why It's huge appeal, because the more simple the more stupid kiddos can play It, like probably, yourself. FOURTH, While having a huge potential for the forenamed points, It's a totally trash game, because their devs lack to understand that in a game, the randomness or nowadays "RNG" is inversely proportional to the strategy. SIXTH, the next time you try to argue a point against someone who knows his shit about videogames and games in general, specially on CCG's, try to pull out a clever idea, if you can.
