Budget Beer Bottle Washer - Sanitizer
Переглядів 76 тис.9 років тому
We're Acme Cider Co. in Grand Rapids, MI. We needed a budget bottle cleaner/sanitizer and after looking at various designs on utube, this is our take. Aside from our hard cider biz, David is a designer best known for Airstream's 75th Anniversary Bambi trailer. If you have any questions or comments, shoot us an email. Cheers!
What detergent you use?
A forster bit would work better than a hole saw but I love this design. I'm rebuilding my home brewhouse after a wildfire took my home in 2020. I plan on making something like this myself. Currently designing a semi compact bottle drying rack that's 7 feet tall to dry 200 plus bottles Atm. Something like this would be a great addition once I can afford it.
The cart is brilliant.
great! thanks, i would love to try this one
Thank you very much.
I hope you guys revert back here to me. Its a great system. But I want to wash my PET bottles with hot water, 110 C hot. Could you suggest something?
Not bad. But I like the German Bottle Cleaner better. Flaschenfee. A Dishwasher Rack. I believe hot water and detergent plus time, will get a better result. ua-cam.com/video/Xt2IRHTyPxw/v-deo.html
How do i make one?
what brand are your fermenter tanks? I'm trying to work with Flextank, have you used them?
Where can I order fermenters like the ones you have?
Brilliant
Hi, how much to make that system?
Hi The cost was around $25 for all the tubing and valve. $50 for the rolling Rubbermaid cart at an auction and I think the pump was less than $30.
Acme Cider I was asking how much for acme to build that system for me. 😁
Great bottle washer. I saw your fermenters in the back and love them. Where did you find them?
The company is Spray Smarter. They are online. Sorry for the late reply.
John Goodman, is that you? 😉 JK, great video! 😃
Great job. Can you clarify one thing for me as I try to replicate this build. If the white tubing is the 1/4" pex, what size did you use for the blue tips?

David and Lori, Great idea! Have looked at your website and am impressed with what you have done and are doing. I live in Brighton and travel to South Haven quite often. I would like to stop by and look at your operation and try some of your cider. Cheers Dale
Also guys, what about the old label? how do you get rig off, is it with the same machine, other machine, is it portable too? Thanks.
If you mean the bottles with labels, they were only used for the video. We were out of new bottles at the time. Sorry for that. Everything on that thing can be removed. We are going to make more videos, We didn't think anyone would be interested. We will be making videos for counterpressure bottling, kegging, aging in barrels, and a handy dandy barrel strorage rack. And also a part 2 of the bottle washer. It's been in use for a year...
Now that's the key word "mobility" when you have limited space I think this is a must.
Hi David, Any chance you have some close up pictures of the setup with out the bottles on it?
Hi everybody and thanks for all the positive comments and questions. We are going to post more videos of creative (SAVING MONEY) ways to sanitize, ferment, rack and bottle. We will be making a part 2 of the bottle sanitizer video to aid those who wished to see closeups. We make hard cider. Acme Cider Co. in Grand Rapids. We have obtained our licenses and are in the process of ramping up, purchasing kegs and talking to local bars for exclusive distribution. We have won numerous international awards for our cider and wish to help those who are home brewers or those in the initial stages of production and have limited budgets. Thanks and Cheers!

Does it matter how "deep" the risers are set in the tubes? My first attempt worked OK except for four of them. I pulled them all and reset them to just inside the tube. Now none are good. Thanks foir a quick answer please!😁
That is brilliant! Great job! Great video, too!
Great design and I would like to build one of these. One question, what size is the pump you are using (gpm)? Thanks
It's a small pond pump, made by Shurflo. I think it's 1/4 hp. Plenty of pressure.
what is the actual GPH of it?
What sanitizer are you using? Are you aware of any problems with paracetic acid in the system? Thanks
Any chance you would have a simple SOP that goes with this? The state I am in (Maryland) requires one for all wholesalers. Thanks, this is great!
Hi David .....great job, considering making one myself, could you please list your components and diameter sizes, would be greatly appreciated. thanks Steve.
+Steve Mcneill Materials: 1/2" PVC tubing and fittings. 1/4" PEX for the risers. Drill with 3/8" bit and press fit PEX into 1/2 PVC. We used Fastrack for the template and for indexing the bottles, The rest of the info is in the video. We use this often and it worlds great. Fast as heck.
