Dune author Frank Herbert on the Mythology of Futurism
I am 73 and I have never seen a woman faint through being overwrought. In films of this age and earlier they did it all the time! Must be out of fashion now…
Love his articulateness. It's initially surprising.
El autor J.D.Carr es de los mejores en novelas policiales, la película tiene sus diferencias pero es buena, muy recomendable.
Splendid. And. A. Exelent. Movie. 🎞 nice. One. To. See. Whit. A. Wonderful. Script. And. Story. 🎬 👌 😀 🎉🎉🎉 💣 👌
Let your passport go out the door.
Peckinpah, one of my favorite film directors.
A perfectionist on a more provable level 🎉 couldn't have said it better myself
❤ Le huis clos fameux de Agatha Christie est célèbre & John Dickinson Carr était un spécialiste dans le genre roman policier !
Great acting, and great acting for the woman and sticking strong to her own beliefs and knowledge about what was true. Such manipulation of women happens, and yet this movie was cool, because she held her own. Trust your instincts, always, and stay strong.
excellent Preminger noir
Davis wasn’t in her 40s - she was turning 40, just like her character. And this wasn’t mid-career. Despite the great success of “All About Eve” (one of my very favorite movies), her career continued to decline. The campy stuff she did in the 60s were nothing compared to her prior movies. I actually think Anne Baxter overacts at times. I much prefer Davis’ performance. The supporting cast is outstanding. I love Celeste Holm and Thelma Ritter, and of course George Sanders playing the same part he usually played. A movie very few people today know is “The Best Years of Our Lives.” It looks like it’s going to be corny fluff about the end of WWII, but it gets very intense. Most people don’t hear about how hard it was for the veterans of WWII to adjust to being back home, and for their families, because in those days people didn’t talk about psychological issues. As the child of a WWII veteran I can attest that a lot of the families went through stuff behind the closed doors of those tract houses. If you could introduce more folks to that movie, it’d be great.
I wonder if it was a prosthetic and they led people to believe it was real.
Hitler kaput.
Great movie
Boring & pointless, & 3 yrs later clearly just gossip.
Très mauvaise qualité d'image...
This movie is anxiety provoking lol
Jack Nicholson is, as always, the GOAT, but this is perfect. The thoughtful, walking the line, Nicholson is more comfortable to watch...Just thinking how he, Ozzie Osborn, and Al Pacino have reached a "Radagast" level of wildness that is almost tragic. I'd give Ian McKellen as a great example of retaining range, while getting older.
Love Jack! Also enjoyed the complete lack of skepticism in his last statement. Not believing in a claim is not at all like actively believing it, that is the definition of a false equivalence.
I couldn't stand his way of directing. He ruined the shining
Cosmic Death Ray! Golly gee space cadets! Send in your box tops and get your secret decoder ring!
They were trying to create a post war narrative that Germany was at war with women. Ridiculous piece of propaganda
Superb movie 🎉
Excellent movie.
this still happening today
Israeli school media
More slander of Germany.
It's a good movie, indeed.
Double..beds.on.a.honeymoo
I know, right? Having twin beds as shown in this movie was a requirement of the Hays Code- because having one bed implies that two people (even married ) might occupy it and have relations. A different, prudish era
U only need 1 bed at a time anyway. Matter of fact you don't even need the beds😂😂😂😂
1:12:42 AWESOME screams - - - give the Wilhelm Scream a run for its money! Never had this much trouble with Donna Reed !!
What would these movies be without someone smoking a cigarette so close to other people or kissing right after they smoke. Yuck.
Yes you're right And seeing doctors smoking too
Ha... my immediate thought was how that mink was going to smell. Criminal to do that to something of such value.
@@bernardkroeger4045 That's funny
Well I guess it's a good thing we've come so far that people don't understand smoking. Now if we could just do something about the marijuana and the other illegal drugs that pervy in our country and also the worst of all alcohol
I met Carl Betz in the mid 70’ s when I worked as a young 20 year old, a receptionist at the Sacramento Conventions center…..he stood in the corner of reception area hands folded and very quiet, then he died a couple years later…….I never knew this movie existed back then…..I knew he did The Donna Reed Show & Judd for the defense……
فلم جميل جدا
A Film For The Ages, The First Lady of The Silver Screen's greatest role. Gish invented Star Actimg, Garbo transcended Star Acting, Davis defines Star Acting. Katharine Hepburn and Anna Magnani notwithstanding. Only Stanwyck rivals, not until Streep and Blanchett to be equalled.. Nonesuch, and the film corresponds across the roster. Bravi a tutti.💞👏🎭🎥👑🎥🎭👏💞
This channel is garbage.
Where are the rest of the comments, phony jackass?
Sounds like he not only doesn't believe in ghosts, he doesn't give a shit about anyone who does. Which is kind of a badass thing to say in an interview opportunity to promote a hit horror movie he was in.
シュワちゃんかっこいい!😂
Angus is right about Eve. You should strive for what you want but not in the underhanded lie cheat and steal way of Eve. It's called ETHICS....
Really good film
Türk filmi
Benighted reference
Dutch is now worthy prey
The Shining should have swept the Oscars in 1980. It was perfect and shook me up physically afterwards. My brother asked why i was green.
❤❤❤❤❤Arnold
I watched this movie for the first time and wanted some commentary to think it over. But this commentary was awful. Arnold Schwarzenegger does better. The same idea, repeated over and over, without expanding, just driving the same thing into the ground. Barely paying attention to the film, as if it were just background.
👽👺👹
"To me, if it's outside what's naturally viewable. It's as big a waste of time disbelieving something as it is believing it." That is pretty profound.
In short, "I care a damn about what I cannot sense through my sensory organs."
Bette Davis has always been one of my most favorite actresses of all times! I absolutely loved her in ALL ABOUT EVE!
the Predator is such a pansy... but then again, so is Arnold.
“Disbelieving something that’s outside of what’s naturally viewable is as big of a waste of time as it is believing it.” Good one!
what does it mean?
@@marksevel7696 spending energy on strongly denying the existence of something you cannot directly see or prove is just as unproductive as blindly accepting it as true; essentially, it advises against wasting time on either extreme of belief or disbelief when dealing with concepts beyond your immediate perception.
