Man, when I think of this dialogue, I can't help but think of someone. A friend. One of my best friends of all time. A brother. One that had been there with me since I could create memories. I thought he was the perfect kid. Intelligent, funny, popular, humble, athletic, etc. You name it, I thought he was untouchable. We were inseparable. He left the school we both studied at since pre-k. Around two years later, I joined him. But it was different. He changed, or so I thought. Made friends and accomplices with people we'd never make friends with. He started acting out. He didn't act like his usual self. Didn't apply himself anymore, either. Then, we naturally just grew apart in our separate friend groups. Then, came the pandemic, and after that, I moved country. Just like that, I haven't talked to or seen him in years. It doesn’t help that his older sister and my older sister was and still are REALLY close friends that still stay in touch. I really shouldn't be disappointed. He was just a kid growing up who made mistakes. Hell knows I also made mistakes and I still am making mistakes. He shouldn't be judged like that. But this is how I felt for a long time. Hurt. I still am, but this falls under no one's shoulders. This is just the circumstance. People change. Things change. Reminiscing makes it feel worse. Wherever you are, Angelo, I hope you're doing well, brother.
