Luther wrote a bunch of small tracks in German and his henchmen read them to the peasants to inflame hearts against the Catholic Church. the Dukes used this ground swell of resentment to steal Church property.
Thanks for the introduction
Yea, you Evildoers with your Sacrificial Lamb Evil is as Evil does, sacrificing human life or whatever life to whomever or whatever are EVIL.... and yet, many communicate they are so good, huh, hence the term in Revelations, WOLVES in Sheeps Clothing... course I have more respect for Wolves, they do not go around sacrificing people or BREAKING HOLY Laws as much as these Priests or Preachers of Jesus or whomever, preachers or not, to communicate such is acceptable to basically torture and individual or sacrifice and individual for the many, like throwing a virgin into a volcano, EVIL IS AS EVIL DOES!!!!! Course, plenty of Evildoers with their Crosses victimized me because i absolutely WILL NOT PRAY TO JESUS, and GOD can FUCK OFF, I AM A GOD, no God created everything, and I pray to "Who has no name, who is not male or female, who is all powerful and all knowing, who ANOINTED THE ANOINTED" as I am an ANOINTED HOLY LORD GOD, and I own Earth and HELL. PLENTY OF PEOPLE ON EARTH IN BIG TROUBLE FOR THEIR CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES!!! ANOINTED HOLY LORD ERIC EC4 OWNER OF EARTH AND HELL
thanks king
I really like Table Talk and The Bondage of The Will

Love it. Thanks for sharing. Jesus birthday story as told out of the mouths of these sweet children. Great job Matheny kids. 💕💕💕💕💕
thanks for study about the bible ❤
It's my pleasure!
Thank you. AYIN-We need to have 'eyes to see' what is happening on the other side of the fallen matrix of this world, to enable us to see Divine truth in the unseen dimension. We can only perceive the kingdom with noetic eyes, the mental and heart faculties. This is where the power is. H5869 עַיִן 'Ayin means eye, of mental qualities and spiritual faculties (fig.), a spring (of prophecies), by analogy, a fountain (as the eye of the landscape):-outward appearance, be content, countenance, sight, face, favour, furrow (from the margin), humble, knowledge, look, open(-ly), presence, regard, resemblance, sight, think, a well (of Divine revelations).
I felt exhausted listening to this long tale ..which I failed to see any connection to the bible. Are you talking about the catholic catechism(a very scary tome or the protestant catechism (did not know there was one!!)
Since I am a Lutheran pastor I was referencing Martin Luther's Small Catechism. You may read it here: bookofconcord.org/small-catechism/
Thank you pastor Matheny!
October is clergy appreciation month. Just wanted you to know that you are greatly appreciated by me!
Thanks for explaining the importance of Luther's Small Catechism Pastor Matheny. I'm from India & i belong to GEL congregation & I will be appearing for the holy confirmation in few weeks. After going through the content of this book it really encourages me to indulge more in the Holy Bible.
Thanks for the comment, Ayush! The Lord bless and keep you!
I was recently gifted one of these, I'm not the most devout person but I have a voracious appetite for books and knowledge. I was curious about why a 350 page book (not including appendicies) was called small. Glad you could explain this to me, great video. And to keep in the tradition of UA-cam comments: First
Thanks, Cameron!
😑 P r o m o S M!!!
This was just magnificent! So adorable! The hiccups tho, hahaha. Just precious!
Simply PRECIOUS!!
:
Excellent!
I forgive you! You deserved a week off. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, my Heavenly Father!
Prayer - from “Reading the Psalms with Luther.” Lord, our God, who alone is able to cleanse from sin, preserve us from appealing for righteousness to the testimony of our conscience or the innocence of our heart, and teach us to build our hope alone on the blood and death of Your Son, Jesus Christ. For His sake blot out our sins and remember our transgressions no more. Amen.
Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law. When I think of your just decrees from of old, I take comfort, O Lord. Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked who forsake your law. Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning. I remember your name in the night, O Lord, and I keep your law. This blessing has fallen to me, that I have kept your precepts.
Thanks for these meditations on the psalms. Such a great help!
Glad you like them!
Thanks for your prayers, Pastor Matheny. We often pray for you and Laura and each of your littles by name. God bless you!
Thank you! We need all the help we can get!
Thanks Pastor for keeping us all in your prayers. I keep you and our congregation in prayer also!
Thank you, Mark. I need it!
So much is up right now in our troubled world. Thanks for leading us to look to our Lord Jesus.
Wow! What a place!
Thanks, pastor Matheny. I wrote some notes in my “reading the psalms with Luther” book and look forward to hearing more about psalm 119.
Prayer Psalm 123 from “Reading the Psalms with Luther”: Lord Jesus, seated at the right hand of Your Father, Lord over heaven and earth, restrain the enemies of Your Church, and uphold Your faithful followers. Let not the scorn of the world and the mockery of the proud cause us to fall away from You, but grant us courage to confess Your name unto our end, and cause the wicked to see Your power and the upright to see Your truth. Amen.
Pastor Matheny, you and Laura and all your littles are a blessing and a gift to our congregation. God be praised and thank you for your commitment to our Lord and Savior and to preaching, teaching, and leading by example. Deeply grateful.
I'm only and unworthy servant!
Pastor Matheny-You are a great example as pastor of our congregation. Keep up the good work!
My pleasure!
I really enjoyed your series on the hymn. Thank you!
Thanks for singing these. This a great hymn and one I want to learn.
I’m telling you Pastor, you could be a professional full time church cantor
That's very kind of you, but I'm much less confident!
Great job singing the hymn. You sounded terrific!
Amen and amen!!
Good stuff!
You are doing a great job as a pastor!
Thank you for your faithfulness and encouragement of Jesus’ sheep at OSLC. You’re a treasure, pastor Matheny. Listening to the Lenten service now and your exhortations.
What other physical symbols in the church sanctuary such as the eight-sided baptismal font, the absence of clocks point to this eternal day?
Glorious eternal day. Lord, in your mercy, keep us watching and ready!
One of my favorite verses from “once in royal David’s city” speaks of Jesus’ humanity so beautifully. For He is our childhood’s pattern, day by day like us He grew; He was little, weak, and helpless, tears and smiles like us He knew; and He feels for all our sadness (funerals) and He shares in all our gladness (feasts). ❤️
Thanks be to God for all his blessings!
Amen! Praying for you and your family. Praise God for technology and for pastors who persevere in serving their congregations during times of pandemic when restrictions are burdensome imo.
Short sweet and to the point
Very informative. What does nunic domincus translate from the Latin?
It means literally, "now you dismiss".
My aunt is being laid to rest today. She died exactly 3 months after my Mom, her sister. What comfort is the nunc dimittis. She has departed in peace and is with the Lord and my Mom. Thanks for instructing us on this. I only wish it were being recited at her funeral. Perhaps it will be. I’ll find out when I watch it online at 2pm. God bless you, pastor Matheny.
