How to Wheel Throwing a 2KG Clay Sphere
how do you fire that piece without the stem blowing up in the kiln? Is it because it is so very thin?
clay only explodes because of water content
You have a know how beautifull piece
Beautiful!
How do you hold that down? I don’t see anything that ensures it doesn’t move. You do beautiful work. I really want to understand how you do it. I just made some stems to attach to some glass wine cups, and it took me forever to trim them with a chuck. You make this seem so effortless.
Thank you for watching! Ah, the magic is in the grip and a sharper quality turning tool! I promise, no hidden tricks involved. It’s all about keeping things steady and having the right edge to do the job. Those wine glass stems can be tricky, but with a little practice and right set up, you’ll get the hang of it before you know it. Cheers to smoother turning!
@@hamapottery thank you!
How much is the weight of clay for the puffy donut?
Amazing work
Thank you appreciate :)
masterful
your good why did you stop making videos?
Thank you for liking our videos. We are refurbishing the studio will make again after🙂
Hi! What are those trimming tools you are using and where can we purchase those? Thank you!
That was fantastic to see! Thank you for sharing! I’m in the middle of remodelling myself. Could you tell me about the table next to the wheel? It looks incredible for potters 🤩. With all the storage space. How tall it is? Is it a ready “just put together” table or you bought the parts?
Thank you for watching! We’re happy to share, It does very practical, an assemble table with adjustable shelf height bought from bigdug.co.uk 🙂 Hope your remodeling journey goes well! It’s therapeutic to rearrange things and space we enjoy very much.
Most beautiful ceramic wine glass I’ve seen so far. Would be interested to know how it looks after glaze firing.
יפה כל כך❤
Beautiful.
✨✨✨ ✨🥰✨ ✨✨✨
❤❤❤
Beautiful work! Can I ask please, what is that amazing Captain Hook tool called!
In North 'merica go check Mud Tools and Bison trimming tools!
@@SnowAppleStudios thank you! I’m in the Uk but I know several sites that do the mud tools.
Thank you for watching! It’s a tailored made one from Bison, unfortunately looks like they may not taking new orders at the moment but would be worth to have a try to ask about. We found another studio called RD Pottery tool maybe you could find something similar if you are in the UK, hope it helps :)
Lovely! Great work on the studio! What are the dimensions of the main area, without the kiln room bumpout?
Thank you! It’s approximately 2m x 4m
Love it! Thank you 😊
Thank you for watching it😊
Are these fired standing upright or upside down?
Respective weights?
Nice tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching x
At cone 10, this type of shape would likely bend severely. How was this glaze fired? Also, wouldn't it be easier to trim the base before attaching to the cup?
Thanks for watching and the comment. Cone 10 would work with some tailor made supports. This attachment method nails trimming skill, a very good practice of eyes and hand’s coordination. Sometimes the conventional ways of making may limit our creativity and imaginations.
Thanks for the response! Nice work!@@hamapottery
Thank you! Cheers@@apoll7
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!! It’s not as easy as you made it look… great job!! Ps. The cheap wheels off of Amazon do not go slow enough for this. Just found this out the hard way the past week.
Thank you for watching!
This is lovely. Did you glaze fire it? Ive had pieces like this tip over in the kiln with how thin the stem is compared to the cup on top.
I love it thanks for sharing❤️ 加油😘
Thank you for watching and support ❤️
👍
Nice music, nice work, nice video...thanks.
Thank you for watching
Beautiful. What is the weight of the clay you used for this vessel?
Thank you. 700g of clay I have used.
very beautiful form. Thank you for sharing your process with us. I love how you include your sweet child.
Thank you for watching and your kind words :)
Looking great. What camera did you use to film this with?
Thank you for watching. Fujifilm X-T30 a wonderful camera
@@hamapottery Thank you for the response. Amazing camera but out of my price range unfortunately lol Keep up the great work, dig your videos
So pretty ❤ I’ve tried the way you assembled the foot and the cup, it helps me alot because my wine cup (with thinned foot) always shake too much while trimming
Thank you! It's lovely to know this video helps, motivation for us to create more.
Very nice. I have a question. The lip of your glass is very thin, how do you manage to not mess it up when you trimming ? And when you trim the foot ! It is so tall and it does not break.. impressive. Thabk you
Thank you for watching! A very steady hand is the key for precise trimming, hope it helps.
Very nice
Thank you
What a great video - thank you!
Thank you
This is the life😂
Simple as that :)
Lovely to see the kids learning clay work naturally
It is! Every child is an artist
Excuse me, how to buy the trimming knife tool you showed, thank you.
They are tailor made from BISON Studios. Thank you for watching!
thank you so much@@hamapottery
Trimming looks like something I would enjoy. It also gives me hope for improving my poorly thrown beginner pieces. I'm still just tossing most of my work into the recycle bucket now. I'll have to start saving some for trimming. Thank you for taking the time to make this video for us. Subscribed. 👍
Thank you for watching and subscription. I'm glad you got some ideas from the video.
Nice form and impressive skills. I would like to see the glaze that you chose for it.
Thank you for watching!
Awesome ❤
Thank you :)
👍👍👍👍👍
I got the L shape Trimming Blade in your second hand market in Hong Kong (Feb 2022? I guess). I really like it. May I know where can I get the new one? also the rest of your trimming tool, they look very nice. :)
Hi, thank you for sticking with us. You could probably find it at 心器工房 at Taiwan. The others tools are tailor made from BISON Studios.
Have your fired these? Your wine cups are lovely. I have tried before but sometimes the stem bends over from the weight of the cup on top. Has this happened to you before?
Thank you for watching. Thinner and lighter in weight of the upper cup would help to avoid bending stem at firing.
Beautiful!!
Thank you :)
보고 또 보고^^ 😃
Thank you for watching🙂

Very nice!
Thank you for watching!
What a great idea! Looks awesome I'll have to give it a try on the wheel.
Thank you 😊
Stunning piece! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you very much :)
I watched it over and over again...puts a smile on my face 🙂
Thank you for watching, we do too 🙂
