Finally over the weekend I’ve tackled pulling out the overheated m54b30 engine and dropped in my fresh m52b28 unit. Just a quick update on the progress I’ve made since last video. Few more parts and a little more time we should be fired up! Stay tuned.

In this Video i get the car all assembled and fired up. Got the entire front subframe rebuild and assembled back into the car as well as the steering rack amongst other stuff. Then we finally started the car! It sounds so good! Any questions hit me up in the comments! Appreciate the support

In this Video i finished the hot side charge piping off the turbo, remount the turbo and manifold, ake some AN lines for the turbo oil feed, and completed the front subframe rebuild. Enjoy and stay tuned for more!!

Today in this video I removed the entire front subframe out of the e46 and clean every thing to prepare it for reinstall and welding for oil return lines. I also assembled a m54b30 turbo on ms43 but I can't set it up, I have some kind of cutoff at 5 thousand rpm
@@abdirahimovsardor7084 I don’t tune my own vehicle. I have a tuner. His name is Jules with beracingtuning.com. Hit him up. He will get you sorted. It of course costs money but he’s well worth the knowledge received and tunes are on point.

@@abdirahimovsardor7084 I used to run a B30. Now run a B28 iron. I used factory Ms43 ecu for it all.

Watched few videos back quite some time ago looking for M54T content, as I have B30T too. Now when you are back on the roads - for sure subbed :) Could you refresh us overall setup? It was b30, used to be b25, but finally is b28? What turbo is this?
@@FaworDrifts in the next video I’ll cover the set up again. I believe I did go over it all in the last video but I will touch up on it again. I’ve always ran b30s till I started using iron b28s. The process is the exact same on both engines one just single vanos one dual. I run a china GT3582 at the moment

I use to always restore the headlights, but I learned clear coat them last longer, but I get it working with what you got

go to k64.pl on google and pick from the multitude of manifolds he offers then get into contact with him and tell him what you are looking for exactly. for instance i chose a max flow 6-1 manifold to clear all factory AC. he builds them on a full car so ask away with your needs.

You said it ran lean during pull test, do you know the A/F ratio number during that test?
it was up in the 12.5 + area after reviewing the film. a forged engine wont mind a 12.0-12.1ish if tuned correctly. stock engines really only like lots of fuel like mid 11's

I plan to buy a forged engine from k64performance motorsports to then Supercharge.. out of m50, m52 and m54 what should i go for in terms of reliability? Thanks.
@@216-i6p they’re all great engines. Iron blocks will be more stout imo though. So m50-52. M54 are great but if you boost them and don’t fully build the engine you’re running on luck imo.
@BsBMWGarage you can only fully build but still have an aluminium block, no issue tho as they are very very very unlikely to cracks from heat, and timeserts are definitely the only option for head studs
give them headlights a good cleaning, itll look so much nicer. sounds amazing
With e46 you don’t have to clean them you can just order a new lens and swap the old ones, but I agree.
Have you ever looked at air flow through a 90* pipe? Its crazy how much restriction it makes. I wonder what your boost pressure drop at the intake manifold compared to you compressor outlet.
Why did you move your hpx maf? Did you change your tune with the move? If i even rotate my hpx 90* it changes my fueling by almost 50%. (Mine is set up like your old videos)
i honestly moved it while rearranging piping to make it a little cleaner. didnt give it much thought. didnt really notice anything to make me think so. thats weird. ill keep that in mind though thanks !
What turbo and housing?
Jason built my exhaust on my turbo e39 touring. Where are you located? When will you fix your set up? I need my feelings hurt ASAP. As far as your boost creep , air wants to go in a straight line. 90* bends are very bad for flow. Your 90* on the compressor housing. If you look at the rsi manifold it feeds the air straight into the wastegate.

@@drewdavis239 yeah i figured. it was just not optimal placement but the turbine housing mounting looks bad but on the inside evenly splits the flow so still was confused on creep as far as that side of things go. but yeah just going RSI for now

Have you tried it with the wastegate hooked up straight to the turbo? I see you're using the SCG-1 boost controller and its not the best.. I had some weird issues with boost when I was running with it.
Yes I have run no controller just gate. Produced the same exact results. I have also heard about the SCG1 being a crap unit. But I’ve got some goodies on the way to mix things up.
I got a e46 330ci with the m54b30 is it worth boosting or should I swap motors with either a m50 or m52 (iron block)
If you’ve already got a healthy b30 turbo that first and search for an iron block for a back up down the road. A stock unopened healthy b30 can produce some nice results. 400+ HP for sure. 👍🏻
@@BsBMWGarage alright thanks so much I’ve done a lot of work on my b30 so it is super reliable. I plan on putting an n54 intake manifold on it then just doing better head studs so I don’t have to worry about the head ever lifting.
@@JOYSTICKKAZUYA imo I would not stud the b30 block until it’s at a point it needs to be. If you’re looking for 400 hell 500 HP leave the entire engine stock. The aluminum block doesn’t like to hold thread very well and may require a helicoil or going up in stud size. No issues here at 450 hp on stock unopened b30. Just secure the oil pump nut. 500 is pushing it but doable. mine lasted 6 months before ringlands went.

@@ajob1194 with everything going perfectly. it can be done. mine had a mechanical failure about 4-5 months in running about 500. ringlands really dont like it.
What manifold are you running that allows you to keep ac
Had a custom manifold built by k64.pl. Ask for kamil. Just make sure wastegate placement is optimal. I screwed up and put mine too low on the manifold. Otherwise run it off the turbine housing.

not 100% but should be the same if not similar. i havent done this with pencil style coils which is what i assume you mean. but i believe it should be the same. check the write up i mention in the vid
Sick e46 build, what k64 manifold are you running and turbo?
im running a t4 china turbo gt3582. Kamils 6-1 max flow top mount t4 manifold (message him and talk personally though and let him know what your set up will be so he can build it around that. i asked to be able to keep the ac lines around the manifold without modification). Kamil absolutely nailed it.

Thanks so much for the kind words! just message Kamil and ask him to build it around the AC lines as most of his off the shelf stuff is already made and might not fully work !
What year it was the e39?
early, like 98-2000 i believe 528i, not to be confused with the m52b28TU aluminum block which was also featured. any e36 m52 will do as well

What manifold are you running ?
K64.pl manifold from Kamil. Had him custom make it to fit the ac compressor and clear the lines with a 6-1 t4

get your turbine housing and exhaust piping,manifold etc ceramic coated......and then a turbo blanket. Heat is your enemy.

How many hp does the tow hook add or is it always breaking down

Hi bud I just need some help with regards to which mounts to use . I’m in the process of transplanting my m52 engine into an E46 chassis . Which engine and trans mounts should I use . The e36 or e46 ones
hello! literally every component besides the engine and trans must be for the e46! only difference would be if you were running a bottom mount turbo and then youd run 1 customer mount for the engine on the passenger side. A few other things differ like coolant hose routing and plugging in different stuff to the engine for control (since youll be on single vanos i assume). Literally every component needs to be m54 components minus the drivetrain. i will drop a video here soon explaining everything needed to put a m52 in a e46 chassis
Hello there. Loving the build! I am in the process of doing a M50 swap on my e46. Which oil pan and engine mount brackets did you use?
Heya - if youre in a e46 platform , you use all e46 accessories, ie: engine mounts, oil pan, pickup tube (from a e39 5 series iron block m52: this is for m52 swap, not 100% on pickup tube for m50 but in essence should be the same). youll use e46 alt, ps res, aircon unit, all pulleys and crank pulley if you wish, and a few other things im sure im missing but this is a good start!

Aye hats off to you for keeping AC and top mount. Your the only one i know of who pulled it off without fully custom AC lines. I switched from top mount to bottom mount specifically to keep AC. The easy way out
thanks for the kind words! yeah when i tore the car down this last time to redo it all i was biting my nails on pulling the trigger on bottom mount so i could keep ac, but luckily everything worked out in the end
