how do you " repent " on earth. ........by loving God and your fellow man , and DOING works of righteousness , to SHOW that your repentance is real. if you have NOT been taught the true gospel in this life , you will be given a chance afterward. how do you show " repentance " in the spirit world prior to the resurrection . ?? you accept the ordinances of salvation done for you by proxy , and you accept assignments in that existence . ASSIGNMENTS ? read pres. nelson's address at a " roots tech conference " in 2017. he recounts a journal entry from his grandfather . his grandfather was visited by his father ( pres. nelson's great grandfather ) from the spirit world . he told his son that he had some time and was given permission to visit . when pres. nelson's grandfather asked HIS FATHER why he couldn't visit more often ( his father had died young and his son did not really know his father ) he was told " i can't do that as i have ASSIGNMENTS to fulfill ". thus the spirit world between this earth life and the resurrection will not be one of floating around in the clouds playing our harps , but will be for those of the priesthood and others , one of FILLING ASSIGNMENTS . what those will be i do not know . some have said it will be preaching the gospel . we shall see.........now , for those who have had the chance to be taught the gospel and have been blinded by the teachings of man and refused to repent and believe the gospel read D&C 76. and for those of us who have the gospel and don't live it , or leave it , and don't repent , then read D& C 76 : 79. i would hate to be one who had made temple covenants , left them or gone against them , and then not repented before death's door shuts.

In further defense of Moroni, and presumably the other military leaders among the nephites, I would say that Moroni DOES preach. 1)Surrounds Zerahemna and preaches about faith in Jesus Christ and gives them a chance to surrender and be forgiven🎉 2)And then he later rallies nephites around a banner proclaiming their dedication to fight for God and their faith (and families and other things)🚩3)And even when Moroni is upset at Pahoran his letter reads as a spiritual rebuke, and he mentions God several times! There are other examples but I think Moroni shows us that he loves the Lord and is willing to tell others about Him, even his enemies in the midst of a war ❤ aka there is no bad time to testify

Yes you can repent after you die but Jesus says that you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

The answer is no. Neither can you follow a heretical religious system and go to heaven, being a willing participant in sinfulness. Mormonism is not Christianity.

Yes! I have felt exactly this way for 20 years! Think of all the other “antis” in the BoM: Antipus, Ani-Anti, Antionum, Antiomno, Antiparah, among others! It is clearly a transliteration. Additionally, what are the chances that Joseph Smith-who KNEW that the prefix “-anti” meant “opposed to”- would use such a prefix to describe a group of converts who clearly were FOR their righteous fathers? Talk about inviting an attack! It would have been an obvious error, and would NOT have been done this way. As it is it is, “-anti” is remarkably consistently used as a transliterated name throughout the entire book, EXCEPT when it is used in the word “antichrist,” which was a word Joseph knew! Very well done!

An "antichrist" is against Christ but it has also been understood to mean someone who pretends to be Christ but is not Christ. So I think a possible interpretation is to read anti in this sense, such that anti-nephi-lehi means (not-nephi)-Lehites, or in other words: Lehites (people from Lehi) who are not from Nephi. It also fits with the context, where the people no longer wanted to be called Lamanites, with the logical response then to say we are Lehites but not Nephites.

I think they called themselves the Anti-Nephi-Lehi before they were converted and the translation of the book was referring to a group of people that were so Anti before their conversion but now were obviously the opposite of Anti. I think the author was using a harsh reality of how much they had changed calling themselves Anti before their conversion and now basically gave everything to reverse their position of being Anti that we can do the same thing in our own lives. Example, I called myself an atheist before I was converted and now the atheist I called myself is a believer in God and he called myself an atheist.
