I Used to Be Young
Переглядів 503 місяці тому
Brand new original song, here is the first recorded version! I wrote this a few months ago, thinking about how no matter how old someone is, they always get reminiscent about how "I used to be young." I've always loved songs that started out with the chorus so I finally wrote one. Lyrics below: I used to be young, from everyone you hear the same thing Whether you're 93, 48 or 17 Your body gives...
Workin’ at the Car Wash Blues - Jim Croce cover
Переглядів 1446 місяців тому
Have wanted to learn this song for a while, and finally did it. We've all met someone (or is it me?) who thinks their ship should have come in long ago, and the world owes them. I can only imagine the songs Jim Croce would have written in the second 30 years of his life...the world missed out. Desire - live at The Little
Переглядів 1707 місяців тому
One of my favorite lyrics that I've written - it's a duet so I don't get to perform it very often. A song about feeling trapped by warring desires and grappling with your identity after a lifetime of mistakes. Duet with the talented @KellyIzzo at The Little Theater on May 29, 2024. Thanks to my wife Alinda for the video, and thank you to everyone who came out to support us for our May residency...
Gasoline
Переглядів 1708 місяців тому
Original song “Gasoline” from my 2023 album “Somebody Else’s Broken Heart.” This song is about my Dad, who was a truck driver for decades. The smell of gasoline was ever present growing up, and it always makes me feel nostalgic. I’ve always wanted to use gasoline as a metaphor in a song about him and it finally came together. I’ll Lead You Home - Michael W Smith
Переглядів 24510 місяців тому
One of my favorite songs of all time- @michaelwsmithTV is why I became a songwriter. I’ve never found a solo acoustic version of this song (come on Smitty, put one out!) so I did one myself. From his 1995 album I’ll Lead You Home. This song has brought me hope in many dark hours of my life. Just raw sound, no vocal editing. Thanks for listening!
Silence & Forgiveness
Переглядів 16310 місяців тому
Maybe you have someone in your life who has hurt you, and you never understood why. It’s hard to think you might never know, and that there isn’t an explanation. I wrote this song about a person like this in my life. Writing it helped me move toward the forgiveness that ultimately sets us free from holding onto resentment. Sometimes it’s a daily choice. You can listen to this song on Spotify he...
Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think)

"Off the porch" front porch song! My mouth was a little frozen. I first heard this song on Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour and thought it would be fun to cover. It was made famous in 1949 by Guy Lombardo's big band. Written by Carl Sigman and Herb Magidson. Follow my channel for more videos on the regular! Elijah (live from a winter wonderland)
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
I wrote this song based on one of my favorite stories from the Hebrew Bible, the one of Elijah fleeing to the desert in 1 Kings 19. It's a powerful story of the human experience - triumph and success followed by self-doubt, fear and despair. How frail we humans are. This is live sound - no filtering, mics or overdubs, at a few points you can hear the wind. We shot it after a robust hike through...
Sing We Now of Christmas / The Last Tsarina

I love older and lesser known Christmas carols, like this one- Sing We Now of Christmas (a traditional French carol). I created a medley with my original piece The Last Tsarina, as I felt the pieces had similar elements, haunting and subtle. You can find The Last Tsarina on my full length piano album, Still With Me: open.spotify.com/track/6FW7awci1DKNSwxdKhk60a?si=RqyppNY6R3yBAUEUS882cw Merry C...
Time to Move On - Tom Petty cover

Finger style version at dusk of Tom Petty’s “Time to Move On,” from his solo album Wildflowers. One of my favorite Petty songs- perfect combination of movement and restless yearning. Sorry for the bits of wind- but after all, it is on my front porch. Find my original music at levigangi.com Subscribe for more videos on the regular!
Permission (live at Lovin' Cup)
Переглядів 128Рік тому
I wrote this song for people who at some time in their lives need permission to let go their experiences of angry words and abuse. Strange to think that we need permission to do this, but often this is exactly what we need to hear. Subtitles are live for this song so I if you need to hear this today, I hope the words speak to you! Listen to this song on Spotify: open.spotify.com/track/57coJVBub...
The Words I Have Left (live at Lovin' Cup)

Another original song from our show on 11.19.23 at Lovin' Cup in Rochester, NY. I wrote this in 2007 when I was going through a divorce. I'm often asked if singing songs like this brings up the difficult subject matter that is in the song, and my answer is that in time songs like this take on a life of their own - despite what it was written about, I know that the imagery and content of the son...
Stand Still (live at Lovin’ Cup)
Переглядів 191Рік тому
An original song, one of my favorite and most meaningful choruses I have written. Sounded 100% better with my friends @KellyIzzo and Mike Shapiro joining me at Lovin’ Cup in Rochester, NY. Find my original music at levigangi.com.
Peace Like a River - Paul Simon cover
Переглядів 613Рік тому
Learned this by watching the amazing @JoshTurnerGuitar cover this beautiful tune. For a while, I only had one guitar to gig with so I didn’t want to tune it down a full step for one song. I challenged myself to sing this in standard tuning- a full step up from Paul Simon’s original recording. Hope you enjoy! Find my original music at levigangi.com Subscribe for more!

DAMN! Well done!
Thank you for listening! :)
I love this guy, he makes us the unromantic fellows look good when we forward it to our lovers ❤❤
Such a nice rendition of such a beautiful song 😊❤
Is your guitar a 214ce or 314ce? Love the rendition.
Hi Stephanie it’s a 314ce! Love this guitar and hope to have it for life. Thanks for listening!

Bravo! I had the pleasure to see Paul & Art in concert in Vancouver in 1983 (I took some photographs)
<3 lyrics ( rien d'autre à dire)
indeed
👍
👍
Fantastic ! The comment before says "obscure song", it's not obscure to me (as I'm Beatles generation old). Loved it as it's straight "live" no embellishment other that your foot that replaced a base drum . Huge 👍
Thanks so much for listening! Although it's daunting I love just recording it as it is, with no sound alterations or cleanup. Pushes me as a performer.
@@LeviGangiMusic You certainly made it enjoyable and (almost) look easy. I've also watched Josh Turner & Allison Young, he plays it on a ukulele
@@sofarsogut Josh and Allison are a joy to listen to!
Fine song my friend. Really deep and powerful lyrics. Forgiveness is the key to everything. Great guitar playing swell.
I so appreciate you listening, and your kind words!
Sometimes you just have to be the one to make the conscious decision to break the cycle, even when it hurts. Too many people flood my mind when I listen to this, maybe one day I'll find peace. Another lovely song, felt it like a knife in the heart.
A wise perspective. Most of the time it does come down to your choice. Take one day at a time, small victories!
Get on ya mate!!
well done
Great job. Be proud of that.
Thank you for listening!
I can't tell u how much I enjoyed...you're version of "never going back"....I do feel that u have a wonderful voice....so instead of talking through the song...try singing it with ur softness...but more feeling* I hope u understand what I'm saying?
Hi thank you for the insightful comment, I like your idea and will keep this in mind when singing!
Beautiful thank you for taking the time to post
Awesome job ! A thumbs up and subscribe from me. Keep rockin !
Grateful that you listened and enjoyed! Sharing music that inspires us is such a gift.
beautiful job ... I just started learning this one ... excellent cover ... well done
Thank you so much for listening!
Great sounding guitar. Astoundingly clean playing. Excellent and delicate vocal. I enjoyed that very much, thank you.
I so appreciate you watching and your gracious comment! I’m always amazed when people compliment my vocals because I only started singing out of necessity.
Brilliant cover..thank you
Solid performance and incredible vocals on this. Didn’t leave any of the hard parts out and showed skilled restraint - absolutely superb
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I do love the little solo in the middle that doesn’t appear on the original album recording.
Lovely mate
Great job
I like your slightly country version...great porch too.
You're the first person to mention the country feel - certainly wasn't intentional, but it just comes out I guess. You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy...thanks for listening!
