Just subscribed thanks for sharing
Much appreciated 😎🤘
Cool vehicle! USA here, so unfamiliar with this model-what year is it¿
1976 VK Valiant ute the vin tag technically its a Dodge ute but there basically the same thing over here in Australia just Valiant is more known here than calling them a Dodge
@@dksgarage189vk with a CL front end?
Looks like I can’t post a link in comments. Get yourself a universal cross slot faucet handle for your release valve. You may need to cut a bigger slot but otherwise they will mount with the set screw. Much faster and you can tighten better. Thanks for sharing. I have been looking at kits like this. These look great.
Much appreciated on the advice 😎🤘 will look into it and yeah for the money definitely worth having them in the tool kit 👌
Thanks for taking the time to video, edit and post. You could check "make it custom", or "Bennett's customs", on youtube. They have both been doing some shaping using some forms either in a press, or with a modified air hammer. Depending on how many different sizes you are doing, the dimple die and weld might be simpler/ easier. cheers
Make it custom is one of my favourite channels currently just good honest easy to watch content and super helpful I'm slowly building up my tooling to take on more and better quality tasks in the garage and hammer forming etc is definitely on the cards to mess about with but much appreciated 🙏
Good buying for a product that works well...Im intrigued to see where this is going...Im a Brissy Valiant guy too
@PeckerwoodKustoms for sure 👍 and yes I'm keen to get this next stage all done on the ute just takes time only doing this in my free time but shouldn't be to far off the next video dropping

Thanks love anyone get old valiant back. N maybe make money' thanks
@julianalderson3938 definitely excited to have this one done and last for a few more years to come 👌
I do enjoy the longer ones, and thanks for uploading for our entertainment.
@bryanoconnor3510 much appreciated 😎🤘 feedback always helps
I heard i can purchase a RHD Swap for my nissan hardbody. Does anyone know who i can talk to?
what year is that one, and how much different they are from the US ones and able to do any front end swaps with them from AUS
It's a 90s there's no difference at all except this Is a 2 door variation this one has the Aussie hilux front end from a 2005 model but as much as it looks like a direct bolt on front this has had everything forwards of the firewall modified to work all the core support gaurds widened a few mm bonnet cut and grafted with a couple of bonnets to form one the guards also have had the corner light grafted out of the 05 and put into the 90s gaurds lots of work
That thing is badass !
Much love 🙌 it truly is a work of art
Damn that thing is going to be amazing! Well done!
Much appreciated 🙏 its been my best mates labour of love for a good 10 years so
Nice work boys 😍
Cheers man 😎🤘 can't beat a day messing with cars with your mates 👌 even if it does include some sunburn 😂
Hey mate, can you please clarify the process /steps and order with regard to the three resto finish products, I kind of got a bit confused with all that. Cheers
@MrBronsen15 hi mate I do apologise for that as I didn't really elaborate to much on how to use the products more so just what I do use I would definitely browse the melomotive website they are who produce the restofinish brand products and are absolute top guys. But for me the process is just get it to bare metal how ever that would be weather it's sandblast or chemical strip like I have . Everything gets neutralised with demineralised water so its apply "Rustgo" which is the foamy product on the panel then demineralised water once treated. Then I go on to give it a good scotchbrite always wearing gloves so no contaminant from your hands like sweat etc gets ti the panel then it's the metal cleaner product to fully remove anything from the panel oils waters etc then apply the afterblast to seal it. Very hard to explain I'm not very good at that side of things. But I do my best :)

Awesome buddy well done again chest cam was kool could see heaps more 👍🏻🍻
Definitely gives an in depth perspective 👌
Hey man is that black high fill primer at 8:45?
It's a product called "restofinish polyester primer" it has way more build to it than a high build primer it's more essentially thought of as what they called back years ago "spray bog" so after that it gets normal high build primer done the black stuff is mainly heavy build so you cab sharpen lines up and get everything dialled in alot more
@@dksgarage189 excellent thank you!
I had a crease like that one on the roof on my charger, I tapped it down with a rubber mallet and worked perfectly
@damosgarage9759 must be a valiant thing haha and he'll if it works it ain't bad at all I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the more serious side of paint and panel on this just at the gritty stage of pre prep on everything :)
With the bare metal prepped to stop the surface rust, once you’ve done repairs and all that, what do you do to get it ready for paint, take all the sealer and tht off?
@MrBronsen15 so the product I am using to seal it is fine to paint over just need to key up the surface so my usual process on something like this in bare metal is to seal it up like it is then 80 grit sand then 2k epoxy prime sand then do my body filler work once that's done I move to a polyester primer sand then onto a high build normal primer then onto final paint will be moving though the stages as we progress but sadly this stuff takes time so will be a long series of videos to come. But long story short this sealer you can paint over its just a step I take when doing my metal work so I'm not having to prime and reprime areas to weld so cuts cost and time in the long run :)
Yeah beauty, thanks for that, I look forward to them, just ease up on the bloody waffle will ya 😂 lol j/k
@@MrBronsen15 😂😂😂🤘
also have recaro bride sear rails to suit brand new
i have full eletronic heater for ae100 102 complete if you need also sprinter gt rear garnish
@michaelchandley1066 much appreciated 🙏 but the heater units all a1 now and also I have plans for my stock rear garnish when I get into the paint side of things but do appreciate the offer 😎🤘
Loving the progress DK just curious what size wheels have you currently got on the Corolla ?
@briantye110 hi mate they are just some old 17s atm car when I bought it had cheap wheel spacers so I am yet to get rims with the correct offsets and stuff to suit this but just have old 17s on it to set it all up and check clearances of everything to suit a 17 inch wheel 😎🤘
It's good to see you like a Toyota or two. Cheers Mate
@alexwallace9832 yeah Toyota's have always been my thing 😎🤘
Hi DK, So far, it looks like a fairly clean unit. Little rust, no apparent collision damage. What products did you use to prevent flash rusting? Cheers from a Valiant tragic.
@alexwallace9832 hi most certainly agree I'm very impressed with the actual condition of the body underneath what looked to be alot worse than it was I'm excited to get into more serious work but it does take time. As for the products I'm using I'm a very big fan of the "Melomotive" "Restofinish" brand of restoration supplies have used them for quiet some time now in my day job and have not been disappointed so basicly the panels once in bare metal are treated with a rust converter called "Rustgo" then cleaned down with "metal prep" and sealed with "Afterblast" all products under the "restofinish" brand roof was in bare metal for 3 weeks prior to me doing qtrs and had heavy rain and cold days absolutely zero signs of any surface rusting etc :) Sorry for the long rsnt but hope this helps 😎🤘
@dksgarage189 Hi, Thanks for the info, There is no need to apologise for good information. This video came up on my feed this morning. Subbed right away. I have been using ferric based rust inhibitors until I found out that there are adhesion issues with etch primer sealers that i was using. Cheers mate.
@alexwallace9832 awesome thankyou 🙏 and yeah adhesion is a scary thing you put alot of trust into the products you use and its alot of money to redo paint and panel so we all definitely want to do it as best as we can for the best budget we can do but 100 percent look I to the "melomotive" brand there youtube has some great content aswell as their Facebook and instagram also. I will be using a ton of there stuff throughout the process of this ute and got some real handy tools from them that make certain body lines a breeze to work on
@dksgarage189 Hi DK, Thanks for the insight 👍 Cheers Mate.
Was wondering what grit of sandpaper did you use before applying the paint stripper? Also where did you buy the paint stripper from?? Cheers.
Hi so I used 80 grit on the roof I try not to go to heavy of a grit straight up usually for me ends up causing me more work but being what has been done to this car I've had to step up to 40 grit to cut through the layers enough ti let the paint stripper attack right down into the lower layers. But its very much a case by case thing every car is different :) as for where I buy it I got this through inspirations paint just a local shop to me in Capalaba Qld but quick google search of the product should lead you to a local stockist 😎🤘
@@dksgarage189 Thanks for your reply......
Ignore the dribbling cockheads mate. Just do your own thing.
Much apreciated mate and yeah there's always a few turkeys when it comes to cars but I get really good feedback outside of yotube in regards to these videos and also the owner loves them cause he doesn't get to see it happen so this gives him an in-depth view of things and the products used 😎🤘
Why not just use brake fluid?
@crabjoe current way things are brakefluid is more expensive that paint stripper just went with the cheapest option I could
If you work as much as you talk you would get a lot done.
@craig7343 thanks but it's all part of it isnt it I mean if I don't explain what I'm doing and the hurdles I may aswell just stick to instagram reels
See ya
Stop dribbling do some work
Can use the skip function to avoid listening to me waffle on 😂👌 the choice is yours
Is it your first resto
This isn't my first rodeo no
Looking good buddy 👍🏻
Indeed off to a good start
Vk huh! Obviously has a Cl Front clip on it? I own a CM (on my channel) nice cars. Well worth saving I reckon. Great engines those hemis.
Yes it's a 76 VK vin tag also label it as a dodge not a valiant 👌 and yes all the orange panels are donors from another car as it's just what the owner of the car liked 👍 but as I stated I'm not really a valiant guy so I definitely don't know much in regards to specifics only what's infront of me :)
Hi DK I’m excited for the Corolla rebuild looking fantastic so far. I have just taken possession of my dads 1997 AE102R which is a hatch by the way not a sedan ? Im looking to do a mild restoration on the Rolla and looking forward to see what tips / ideas I can get from yourself. Great vid can’t wait to see more 👍
That's awesome 😎🤘 and hopefully you can get some ideas and inspiration from the craziness that goes on in my garage there an awesome little rocket cheap to build and will last forever if looked after solid toyota 👌
😮
🔥🔥🔥
Is it hard to remove them without striping whole thing from the interior
There could be a way but honestly from.what I've seen removing the entire dash it's almost the only way to remove the unit. But anything possible with some time and messing around this was definitely easier for me to do this way
Looks sick man
Cheers man getting there 😎🤘
Love ya work DK 👌🤙
Much appreciated! Mate 👌
Wow this thing has come also good way
