Beautiful little town... btw my ancestors were some of the founding families and were the owners of Chinsegut Hill (as its called now). Though i didn't grow up there...Brooksville will always have a special place in my heart.

Have visited Brooksville, having approached it from Tallahassee. A lovely, unspoiled small town. Was really taken with the surrounding countryside-rural, gently rolling, and watered. Beautiful. Imagine Ocala much like it before ruined by planners and developers. Keep your rural countryside. Few beautiful ones left as the state is over developed and over populated. I know. I live in a beach town in South Florida.

My granddaughter and I had a wonderful time last year. We’re making plan’s for this years. If you haven’t been to the tree lighting on Main Street Brooksville you have to go this year. See you there!

Sounds horrible, a bunch of highways and old people own all the property’s cause their grandparents got the land for free.

We called in advance to schedule a cut for our 10y/o daughter. Upon confirmation they asked if it was for a kid we said yes. Got to appointment they shaved her undercut and cut about 1” of hair off. Then they started to blow dry the hair services we did not ask or agree to and we’re under the assumption it was included. Upon being charged and leaving we found out they charged us $31 for a woman’s cut because it took 40 mins. I called to speak with a manager who told me that was the reason it was $31 because her hair was thick and they had to blowdry etc. well we were NOT INFORMED BEFORE BEING CHARGED ABOUT THE CHANGE IN PRICING!!!! Manager told me what do you want to only pay for half of the time it took to do the work? You could have stopped her from doing the blowdry (A SERVICE WE DID NOT KNOW COSTED MORE) and for that they took advantage and didn’t ask us first if we wanted a blowdry that costs extra. I explained I understand that it took longer and yes she should make her wages for it but we NEVER were told of anything that was an upcharge NOR were we told we would be billed 2x the original price of a child’s haircut. This is extremely poor and bad business and the owner should and the stylist should take this as a learning lesson to tell people upfront before adding extra services and if the total is more than was was asked for the appointment the guest should be told in advance before the card is charged. Now the manager refuses to issue a refund of $15 cause they did the extra work even though we weren’t told or asked. This manager has very poor business etiquette and honestly poor customer service and hung up on me while disputing this on the phone. additionally after making this post, the manager went on to EMAIL MY PLACE OF WORK over their $15 mistake. Chrissy Lisk is extremely petty, called the police on me after i messaged and told her not to harass my coworkers and job, and the hernando county sheriffs office apologized to me for her being this extreme and that she DID IN FACT CROSS A LINE CONTACTING MY WORK. She claimed to the police that the child requested a specific cut that took a longer amount of time when in reality we asked for a trim, they added blow-drying that we never asked for or knew there was an upcharge for. In the end this business is operating in fraudulent practices in my opinion. This is freedom of speech, and as per HCSO i am entitled to leave as many reviews anywhere i want no matter how bad as long as i am not threatening anyone in anyway which i am not. If Chrissy wants to make things right for their mistakes of not clearly stating any up charges prior to charging us then i will remove any and all negative reviews. Additionally now a week after calling the cops on me they called the cops again when i have had 0 contact with them in fear of me doing anything in retaliation from when i return back home from working out of state and ive already been back home and left again and didnt do anything. They are scared to own up to their own mistakes and worried it will bite them in the ass!

Great videos you are making man, very interesting content with the locals! Seems like Brooksville is a hip but historic town with warm Southern people. I hope they protect and restore all the old buildings downtown and come up with an architectural review board so new buildings and houses honor the Old Florida vernacular theme and style....we don't need any med revs in Brooksville. Also, praying they protect the rolling pastoral land surrounding Brooksville and prevent widening roads, sprawling subdivisions and commercial development....keep the land zoned rural farming and ranching only! One of the greatest things about driving though Hernando County to get to downtown Brooksville is the country roads that wind into town, you don't have a thousand traffic lights like some small towns that allowed overdevelopment of their surrounding farmlands.
