I really wanted Unohana to fight a Quincy before she passes her title. One of the meh moments in bleach.
How many times unohana killed him then revived him until zaraki awaken his full strength. 😂
Her bankai release is one of the most badass moments in anime.
It’s a bit weird to see Kero-chan (Keroberos) to be this brutal 😅
They say Zaraki is stronger than Unohana but if Unohana is capable of fighting him, killing him, and then bringing him back to life a dozen times, then doesn't that just means she's the superior warrior? This is such a weirdly written fight.
The thing is it was mentioned that zaraki was subconsciously subdued most of his power because he couldn't find a strong opponent after unohana and couldn't enjoy his battles, full power zaraki is indeed stronger than unohana said by kubo himself
Kenpachi after this fight is 100% stronger than Unohana, especially in shikai+. The Zaraki we know before this fight and the one we see after are in totally different leagues
It's more like she knew Zaraki had potential to be more powerful than her, so she was fighting him to the edge of death continuously until he awakened and surpassed her. She could only do that precisely because she was stronger than him (at the time)

I like that her Shikai & Bankai releases share the same name, but are polar opposites in terms of their function.
The Kanjis have different meanings.
I wonder about that, actually. Her whole personality is a blood thirsty killer who learned to heal herself and her opponent to prolong the fight. I wouldn't be surprised if her shikai had offensive capabilities. Of course, on the flip side of that, she could fight, release shikai to heal, re-seal, and continue to fight.
Sacrificing such a powerful and menacing fighter to "awaken" zaraki, who got beaten up 1 fight later, was disappointing.
Could you imagine her bankai against the Quincy?! Too strong or atleast a great fight

There was a reason that Yhwach had the Bankai Stealing Medallions made and that he made an elaborate plot to fool Yamamoto into fighting Royd Lloyd instead of him. Dude knew that Zanka no Tachi was a threat. Easily my favourite Bankai :D

I see no purpose of her bieng dead
crazy because past this point there was no purpose for her to be alive. the person who taught her how to heal took her spotlight and at this point her strength plateaued back when zaraki was a child. even she saw only one last reason to be alive and that was to truly pass the mantle she created

Well, he is though. Strength wise, he's more powerful. Overall power, taking the level of healing she's capable of, she could be labeled as more powerful. The whole point of this battle was to get zaraki to stop holding back, stop dividing his power and get over his fear of never finding a worthy opponent.
Towards the end of the series,he's wayyyyyyyyy stronger.Kubo himself stated in one of the light novels that zaraki is on ichigo's level and this is end lf series ichigo
