The Last Shark (1981) was bought by Film Ventures president Ed Montoro from Italy for release in the U.S. and Canada in 1982 with the new title Great White (aka The Great White). Montoro spared no expense with a massive ad campaign including 3 one sheet posters with new artwork. It played for only two weeks before U.S. and Canadian theatre owners were told they could no longer show the movie. Actually, I find the Film Ventures promo campaign even more fascinating than the movie itself!

I recently found the DVD of this on the Barnes & Noble website foe only $9.99 and excitedly ordered it, thinking some boutique company had finally restored it. When it arrived I was surprised it was a cheap DVD-R rip of (probably) rhe VHS with a crappy paper laser printer label. I'm glad to have it but didn't realize B&N sold bootlegs.

Watching this interview now! Cool! This is exactly what i wanted to listen to. from you. The Detroit RC memories were great. I just watched a doc on Christopher Lee and John Landi's was interviewed and he and Lee were great friends! When i met u guys at the Santa Barbara film fest i was running a video shop so all yer films at the time were in our inventory. Some were VHS!!! That ended in 2007 because of the chain stores undercharging us. Well, that was so great listenin to ya and i wish i had contacted u when i still lived in Ca. I'll keep fingers crossed for the western.

I knew VS weren't lying when they said this was going to be an epic Black Friday like no other. They certainly slayed Severin this time round and it's certainly going to be a jaw-dropping experience watching this for the very first time, especially in UHD. I'm positive this will be my favourite first time watch from VS from these past six years. And shame that Michael Mann and Scott Glenn did participate in the release but I'm sure VS tried.

Pretty huge, I must admit. Been far too long since I last saw it though remember it being very mean-spirited. I'm sure there's some labels who are quietly jealous that Felsher got the right to this

Just ordered a copy of The Keep . Been waiting for this for years and years ago. I remember seeing this in the theater back in 83 .

Good stuff Jason👍 Looks like The Keep is officially one of the secret titles for VS this Black Friday. Just checked the IMDb page for The Keep and was pretty much gobsmacked by what I saw: stills of the film that are clearly from a new restoration. You can see for yourself. I checked the IMDb for The Keep less than 3 months ago and these weren't there. The other secret title has to be Silver (1993) now.

I did my unboxing of cover A and yes, it is worth the money I spent on it!!!! Such a great buy!!!

Degausser video only includes 16MM and some other originally shot on film titles because they didn't have access to the original film elements, so titles like Herencia and Cannibal The Musical become part of the line because they have to pull from tape masters. But there's plenty of 16MM films in their main catalog, that they had film elements to work from. I don't believe the line is a dig at Terror vision, I believe them when they said it had been a longstanding desire by a contingent of their employees to release films they couldn't necessarily obtain film elements for. I think the list of titles they wanted to release but didn't due to lack of film elements grew to a critical mass and enough time passed that the VS execs decided to let them do it.

Hey Jason and Malcolm, Sorry guys for not able to catch you when you went live. I pre-ordered everything except Black Eyed Susan and Goodbar which honestly doesn't appeal to me despite hearing people non-stop talk about it for these last two years. The Keep, Jade, Home Sweet Home and Iced, it's obvious VS has these but none I believe are coming this year based on VS describing the secret titles as "worldwide 4K UHD debuts", suggesting such titles have already had a Blu-ray. I know VS can be misleading at times with their hints but in past history, they usually let us if the secret title is making a worldwide Blu-ray debut (like Night Screams for example). So with that being said, researching and going through my lists and looking at all the hints so far, I feel that there is a very good chance that one of the secret titles is Evilspeak 1981. Long OOP and VS knows, this would sell like hot cakes.

Mine comes from Bellmawr, NJ, i ended up paying about 20$ shipping to Germany. Im sure it will take about a month to comr but im glad i ordered it.

I'm going to be forced to pay an exorbitant price on the marketplaces😞. Missed out on buying on DiabolikDVD and Orbit because I was at work and couldn't believe how quick they sold out. Felsher did an amazing job with the release but he really should have limited the amount that people could buy as there's people who brought in excess of 3, which is so greedy and wrong.

I'm super chuffed about Blood Tracks. It's a HUGE want for me. One of my favourite slashers of the 80's. It embraces everything I want in a slasher and the girls in it, are very sexy indeed😆.

I think both of you would enjoy the movie: "Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls". Perfect Halloween movie. No nudity. Very little CGI, if any. Plus there are some horror film "royalty" with Jeffrey Coombs and Barbara Crampton.

Great interview! The Supernaturals would fit right at home with VS. It sucks to hear about issues preventing it from coming out as I've been wanting to watch this for years but hopefully this can be resolved soon.

This is great! Cameron’s Closet is one of my faves! That and his movie Distortions! He Knows and Supernaturals are great, too!

If terrifier came out 25 years ago, Art the Clown would be all over Hot Topic lol The movies are so overrated!! The 2nd one is better than the 1st, but again overrated. Horror fans have been strokin it to these movies for longer than this weekend. I like gore, but that doesn't make a movie good, imo. Good luck with the heat bro! lol

Good choices. I've only watched a limited amount of horror films from the 2010's. It's getting a lot harder to sit down and watch movies nowadays, especially this year. It's been nearly 10 years since I last saw it but I really like Under the Skin. It's so offbeat yet bewitching, and Scarlett Johansson is just so alluring in it and plays her role so effectively. Way better than Species. Every time she lures the men back to her hideout and they are compelled to strip naked, I can't help but uncontrollable laugh🤣

Thanks for being honest Jason. And like you, I'm actually going to wait for the standard pressing whenever that comes. Not paying $45 for that trash packaging and then all the other stuff which is literal junk in my eyes.

That Forgotten Gialli Vol. 7 boxset is scrumptious. Really looking forward to digging into that, especially Obsession: A taste of fear which looks super stylish and has Virginia Hey of Mad Max Road Warrior which I find deeply interesting. Got a great amount of extras too though I'm a bit disappointed that not one of the girls from the films did an interview but it is what it is. And Mind Benders looks to be quite the rarity. No photos or runtime listed on IMDb.

The Tenant is a cool release, and the film is excellent. Really good. But The Ghost Dance is the release of the year for me. Best fucking artwork, truly stunning. I'm getting both but I'll hold out for the BF, so I can just pay one shipping fee

Jason I've seen Mind Benders and I think you'll like it. Fun comedy/horror/scifi.
